Sen. Chris Coons, Delaware Democrat, drew double-takes on the right Monday after insisting that the burden of proof lies with Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to prove his innocence.
Ms. Coons said that Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez “have nothing to gain” and have put themselves “at legal risk” by accusing Mr. Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in his teen years.
“It is Judge Kavanaugh who is seeking a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court and who I think now bears the burden of disproving these allegations,” said Mr. Coons in a Monday interview on MSNBC, “rather than Dr. Ford and Deborah Ramirez who should be dismissed with slanderous accusations.”
Townhall.com’s Guy Benson called the argument “just wild,” while the Media Research Center blasted it as the “Dem idea of justice.”

In real life, the burden of proof is and has always been with the accuser. The stunning lack of proof is what marks this case. I want her to testify under oath and serve every minute of the prison time involved in this odd slander/sedition mix of a case.

I asked woman who answered Maize’s phone...’does she believe Dr Ford & Ms Ramiriz?’...Reply,’.. oh Sen Hiroto came out a week ago to say she believed Dr Ford..’ My next question: So then does she believe women who accused Keith Ellison? Reply.. ‘she believes all accusations should be investigated..’ When I asked if investigation has been scheduled, response was ‘our office doesn’t investigate’. I asked that the Sen from Hawaii urge Mr Schumer to quickly schedule investigation or it would look partisan and that wouldn’t be good. BIG SARCASM ON !

Kavanaugh must prove that he was not at a place which is not specifically defined, at a time that is not defined, or he is guilty?
