Donald Trump's New Presidential Cadillac Limo Steps Out
Car And Driver ^ | 09/24/2018 | BY JOSEPH CAPPARELLA

President Donald Trump has officially arrived at a public event where he debuted his new presidential limo—"The Beast," as it's known colloquially. Like the previous Beast, first used by President Barack Obama in 2009, the new version is built by General Motors and visually denoted as a Cadillac, and its latest iteration adopts more modern styling cues and surely packs more advanced technology. Although the details are kept secret, the new Beast is, like its predecessor, a heavily armored stretch limousine that, despite looking like a stretched CT6 or XTS sedan, is actually built on a heavy-duty GMC TopKick truck platform and supposedly weighs upward of 15,000 pounds. Its somewhat conventional styling attempts to mask the sedan's imposing footprint, but in reality it is far larger than any full-size truck or SUV on the road today. We don't know what is under the hood, but it's surely a stout powertrain to be able to move around something so massive.

From a comment in the video:

This driver seems to have the skill to get the president's limo out of any tight spot. At first sight, the video appears to be real, but something does not seem right. When you look closer, you'll see that it is actually computer generated. For example, we noticed that some of the spectators in the background don't move (0:25). Also, the tire smoke dissipates very quickly on the last scene where he skids to a stop (1:28). It turns out that this video has been generated using a racing video game called 'Forza Motorsport 6.' They have done a pretty good job -

And only while idling. It goes down once it rolls off the curb.

If it gets 8 mpg while idling that’s much better than any other car ever made!

How many did we build? I bet at least 15 to 20 of them.

Cost?

“4 mpg”

Gonna need more oil.

I wonder what the EPA has to say about it?

I crack me up.

Obama didn’t need oil for his as he had enough hot air wind power.

That was impressive but it is computer generated. Watch how the smoke dissipates at the very end.

All of that equipment still doesn’t give anyone the right to break the traffic laws.

Mildly surprised it has D.C. tags and not a government plate.

Particularly with the "Taxation Without Representation" at the bottom. My plates (Massachusetts) have "The Spirit of America" at the bottom,a political sentiment with which I vigorously disagree. So I've obscured that slogan, front and back.

I read articles on armored cars a few years ago. Something like 80% of them get shipped to Mexico. Anyone who’s anyone down there has one to protect them from cartel attacks.

It’s all pointless unless it has an ejection seat.

I’ll wager it gets 8 mpg.

I’d be surprised if it gets anywhere near that good mpg.

Who would want to ride in Obama’s old wheels. They should park it down by the river and torch it.
