Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Monday defended himself against the sexual assault allegations roiling his nomination by saying he was a virgin through high school and college.
"We’re talking about an allegation of sexual assault," Kavanaugh said in a clip released from his interview on Fox News Channel's "The Story with Martha MacCallum."
"I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone," Kavanaugh said. "I did not have sexual intercourse or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or for many years thereafter ... The girls from the schools I went to, and I, were friends."
"Through all these years that were in question, you were a virgin?" Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked.
"That’s correct," Kavanaugh replied, adding that he did not have sex until "many years after" college.
Neither of the two accusations regarding Kavanaugh involve sexual intercourse. Christine Blasey Ford is alleging Kavanaugh held her down and groped her over her clothes during a high school party in 1982, and Deborah Ramirez claims he exposed himself without her consent during a gathering at Yale University a few years later.
Fox News released clips from the interview throughout the evening on Monday.
At another point in the interview, Kavanaugh vowed he is "not going anywhere" despite the allegations.
"I’m not going to let false accusations drive us out of this process," he said, sitting beside his wife as she nodded.
Kavanaugh during the interview denied attending the party in Ford's account.
"[I am] not questioning and have not questioned that perhaps Dr. Ford at some point in her life was sexually assaulted by someone at some place but what I know is I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone," he said.
Ford has stated that she is sure Kavanaugh was the man who allegedly assaulted her in an episode that she says has caused her decades of emotional trauma.
The full interview is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. EST.

I think the number will be alot greater than we have been led to believe.

Because its another hard to prove negative. Why bother bringing something up like this? Most people in this country are in some ways, putrid of heart and soul. They see a guy and just cant believe he was a virgin till later in life, Shapiro and Tebow not withstanding. And with Tebow, there is suspicion out there that he is actually gay, so I just dont think its a good time to bring something like this up. How do you prove it? Now, all the left has to do is find ONE old broad willing to say she had drunken sex with him back in the day, just ONE. Its just not a good idea to give your enemy any other targets.

Just as there is nothing wrong with having sexual intercouse once you are married (even several times a day as we did), there is nothing wrong with being a committed virgin before. There is more than a little good and decent which results from such a lifestyle.

There was a time when the vast majority of high school kids ( boys and girls ) never had sex and didn't even engage in much sexual/non-intercourse activities either.
Yes, those times went by the wayside, some time ago; however, it's still true for some, today and no, the aren't the ugly, unpopular kids.

If he was a nerd throughout school, and a genuine nice guy, this undercuts the aggressive jock “Johnnie from Karate Kid” narrative.
More embarrassing would be to make the claim of having 57 sex partners while still in high school if those yearbook posts are to be believed.
I’m about the same age as Kavanaugh, and also was a virgin until after college. (I’m a guy). I worked on oil rigs over the summers in college - moving around from rig to rig to cover when guys were gone or didn’t show up.
One time this group of guys was talking about how on their week off they were all going to go into town and pick up hookers, etc. They were giving the “college kid” (me) a hard time when I said I would never hire a hooker - that it was not only demeaning to them, but would also be to me. And then I made the comment about me still being a virgin. They all had a good laugh about that and gave me an even harder time.
Over the next two days, 5 of the 6 guys got me alone and apologized to me. Several of them said they had never hired a hooker and didn’t plan to, and one of them saying that he was a virgin too.
It’s disgusting that a candidate for such a dignified public office would even consider discussing such a thing. Or worse yet, HAVE to.
