Westwood One is shaking up its weekday afternoon Conservative Talk block in January 2019.
Michael Savages The Savage Nation will cut back from three hours to one hour daily from 3-4pm eastern while Ben Shapiro takes over the 4-6pm slot. Cumulus launched Ben Shapiro on six stations in April including a live clearance on 770 WABC New York and delayed clearances on WMAL Washington DC, WLS Chicago, WYAY Atlanta, and KABC Los Angeles. The live show will be separate from Shapiros daily podcast.
It is that daily podcast/live broadcast model that Savage will switch to. He will host the daily afternoon show as well as a separate daily podcast in January.
Michael Savage is a made up wacky persona that guy did as a joke. It was so popular he made millions.
But he has nothing but contempt for Trump.
Crazy aint selling like it used to...
Shapiro is excellent on the subject of leftwing gender-bending and general SJW BS. Beyond that he comes across as very neocon in his outlook.
I would like to hear a Charlie Kirk or Steven Crowder show. Do not discount Shapiro because he engages college kids and actually provokes liberals on campus to also engage as do the other two. I care less if he does not like everything Trump because he has given him credit for some things. His main premise is that government sucks at everything and I generally agree.
Never could stand savage, Levin is ok (never got to listen to him much because within 10-15 minutes of him coming on air either the station switches to a lower power setting, or a pirate hispanic station switches on).
I like Rush (when I do get to listen to him). I also like Mark Steyn when he fills in.
I hate listening to Ben Shapiro. He’s a horrible speaker. He sounds like he’s reading, even when he’s not. His voice is annoying. He’s a whiner and a RINO.
I thought Savage would have a 2-hour show and 1 hour podcast, that’s what I thought the press release says.
Ben Shapiro won’t be successful in radio. Terrible personal presentation.
Ditto that. I can't understand about 75% of the output from his motor-mouth...and I don't have time to waste on enduring his gross assaults on my ears....so I click over to somewhere else when he's firing-off his pearls of wisdom.

Savage is getting up there in age.
Shapiro had an hour-long show on Fox last night and, even though there’s much I don’t like about him, this show was very good. I guess he’ll do another one next Sunday. We’ll definitely watch it again.
Hugh Hewitt, Mark Levin and Michael Medved were all people I used to listen to. Medved was a big Obama supporter so I dropped him way back when. Hewitt is just boring. Levin got mad at Trump over some book deal but I listen to a small amount because hes on SiriusXM Patriot.
Andrew Wilkow is on SiriusXM and that guy is the reason I subscribe. I actually enjoy listening to him. Dan Bongino is my second most favorite but he doesnt have his own show except on CRTV, but I wont subscribe to CRTV because they screwed over Mark Steyn who is my absolute favorite pundit type.
As far as Savage I used to like him and we owe him some respect for having Candidate Trump on back in the primary days. Rush really is good reading but I cant listen to him because he doesnt sound quite right since his hearing loss. Hannity is annoying as hell the way he talks but hes pretty popular and smart but I only listen when hes the only option.
I guess I’m going to get flamed but here goes. I watched the show last night and liked it. I like his delivery and the 2 minute rapid segments with the panel at the later part of the show.
I watched the first few minutes of his show last night. Not impressed. Deleted the recording.
“I cant stand Ben Shapiro and will not listen.”
Dittos. IMHO he is a Trump backstabber.
OMG! Soy Boy NeverTrumper! You took the words right out of my mouth. His voice is even soy. Ick!
“Ben is not a Never Trumper.
He is more of a Sometimes Trumper.”
Shhh, do not upset the uncritical-thinking ever-Trumpers, whose messiah can do no wrong. Although I do not particularly care for his show, like Ben I support Trump when he is correct and conservative, and criticize him when he is a knucklehead. That makes him a POTUS. I always praise *any* POTUS when he is correct and condemn him when he is wrong. Admittedly, there has been a higher praise:condemnation ratio over the past 18 months than the previous 28 years when there was precious little to praise.
IMHO Trump has made two catastrophic errors: 1) not firing every single Obama holdover, an oversight that has been nipping at his heels since Inauguration, and 2) not telling the Fed courts to pound sand when they have no jurisdiction in areas where they clearly have no jurisdiction, allowing them to stymie his every move. Combined with his own psychopathology of needing to be the center of adoration causing him to open his pie hole when he should shut up and stay out of his own way, I think we will one day look back on his presidency as one of general success but incalculable missed opportunities.
Shapiro is TOTALLY against abortion.
I watch his debates on YouTube, he argues passionately for life.
My recommendation is to listen to Scott Adams. His podcasts are frequently excellent and you get to learn something about psychology and he’s pretty funny at times.
At any rate, he’s laid back and speaks clearly and slow enough that he kind of settles the mind. No commercials.
Just bring “your mug, your glass, your vessel” of coffee or “favorite beverage” for your “simultaneous sip with Scott Adams”.

>”Am I willing to risk a Hillary presidency not to vote for Trump? The answer is yes. The reason the answer is yes is because I am not going to watch the only party that has a possibility of reflecting conservatism descend into this. Im just not going to do it. Im not going to be complicit in the death of the conservative movement at the hands of Donald Trump.” -Ben Shapiro
