Jane Mayer said on Monday that Deborah Ramirez, who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexually harassing her, told her New Yorker colleague Ronan Farrow that she couldn’t be sure of the Supreme Court nominee’s guilt.
Confronted with a New York Times report indicating Ramirez expressed doubts about Kavanaugh’s guilt to former Yale classmates, Mayer said Ramirez shared those doubts before they published their bombshell report on Sunday.
“To Ronan she said she wasn’t absolutely certain, she needed to make certain before she was going to say anything publicly. She remembered the specifics, the graphic specifics, and she tried to remember for sure who that man was who was in her face,” she told MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.“With all due respect to the New York Times, which is the best paper in America, just because they couldn’t get the story and speak to her or find the person that we found, who remembered it from back then, doesn’t mean it’s not true.”
Ramirez, who opted to come forward after learning Senate Democrats were independently investigating the incident, claims Kavanaugh drunkenly thrust his penis in her face during a dorm party at Yale when he was a freshman.
Kavanaugh has vigorously denied the charge and painted it as a politically motivated smear in the same vein as the allegation that he pinned down Christine Blasey Ford and tried to remove her clothing when they were in high-school.
There are no eyewitness accounts included in the story and several of Kavanaugh’s friends and roommates from his time at Yale, some of whom were said to have been in the room, released a statement denying that the assault ever took place.
Ford and Kavanaugh are scheduled to testify publicly before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday.

My sense is that Ronan published this before he was finished vetting the story because rumors were circulating and Drudge posted it as breaking news. He knew the NY Times was on the case too and threw it out there unverified in order to protect his exclusive. Now, he has egg on his face and damaged his own reputation.
Yes. I know it for a fact. When Mia Farrow lived on the UWS of NYC, she was an active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament parish. All her children were baptised and she took them to Mass regularly. One Sunday shortly after the revelation of the Woody Allen/Soon Yi affair — before SY had left the household — Woody Allen, knowing where he could find all of them on a Sunday morning, showed up on the steps of Blessed Sacrament to argue with Mia Farrow as she and the children left Mass. Mia’s fellow parishioners heckled and booed Woody Allen.
Ramirez sure has a sour puss. Looks worse than most feminasi I see and I see a lot of them. Maybe she does not have any teeth. I bet she is glad that picture is plastered all over the world.
I had a lot of respect for Farrow’s courage and fact finding based on Weinstein. All gone. Now he is just another partisan leftist hack where facts and credibility don’t matter, with no journalistic standards to differentiate being used as a partisan toy and facts/logic. Farrow you just destroyed your brand forever.

I agree. Ronan gave up whatever credibility he had with this story. I think he ego got the best of him.

look at David Brock.
He wrote a meticulously researched and sourced book called The Real Anita Hill.
He now disavows everything he wrote back then, and is a big time anti republican who runs the Soros-funded Media Matters.
Brock has made out well, and the MSM uses Media Matters as a "credible source".
I dunno what will happen to Farrow, though.

Thanks Red Badger. No surprise that Ronan Farrow would smear Brett Kavanaugh, or anyone really -- he was raised on the smearing of Woody Allen, and much later was told, oh, Frank Sinatra is probably your real father. And we all know how Frank treated broads, but that's okay, Mia wanted that booty call anyway.
