New Yorker reporter: New woman accusing Kavanaugh of sexual assault was not initial source

New Yorker reporter Jane Mayer said Monday that word of an alleged sexual assault committed by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh while he was in college spread to the Senate and the media before the magazine reached out to his accuser.

“She didn’t come forward with it,” Mayer said NBC’s “Today” show.

“What happened was, the classmates at Yale were talking to each other about it, they were emailing about it. We’ve seen the emails, back in July before Christine Blasey Ford came forward, and eventually the word of it spread," Mayer added, referring to the woman who earlier this month publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her while the two were in high school.

Mayer noted that the latest allegations eventually “spread to the Senate" and "to the media," which led to her and New Yorker contributing writer Ronan Farrow reaching out to the woman.

“After giving it really careful consideration for six days, she decided to talk to [Ronan Farrow],” she said.

Her comments came a day after Mayer and Farrow authored a report detailing a sexual assault accusation against Kavanaugh stemming from his time as a student at Yale University in the 1980s.

Deborah Ramirez is accusing Kavanaugh of exposing himself in front of her and causing her to touch his penis without her consent during a party while the two were in college.

Ramirez has admitted that she was drunk when the alleged incident took place, but expressed confidence that her memory is accurate after discussing it with a lawyer.

"We wouldn’t have run this if we didn’t have a careful basis of people who had heard at the time and found her credible," Farrow said on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday.

Kavanaugh has denied the claim, calling it a "smear, plain and simple."

The New Yorker report notes that at least two Democratic offices are investigating the incident. The story was published a week after Ford came forward and detailed an alleged sexual assault committed by Kavanaugh while they were in high school.

Kavanaugh and Ford are scheduled to testify regarding her claims on Thursday. Senate Democrats are calling for the hearing to be postponed in wake of the new allegation.

Ramirez is a Senior Fellow at Soros’ Open Society Institute.

This is a “regime change” script being run against us.

B.S. It was all coordinated by Soros and CIA operatives. And those with relationships to both.

As soon as I saw Jane Mayer's name, the BS detector was pegged. She and Jill Abramson wrote a book on Clarence Thomas, so this appears to be a specialty of theirs. Her wording here sounds like BS, as well.

Ok then, let’s see these group emails from the old college buddies, with names not redacted. Then if true let Trump pick another nom.

I am going to be faithful to my arguments of the past weeks. We don’t look below age 18 for misdeeds of nominees. So now we are going to ask for corroboration or barely criminal misdeeds of young adulthood. So that both politics; sides are fair when looking at college sex antics. Because everyone has something.

When we have corroborate for a sex antic, next we ask ourselves whether it rises to a lifelong prevention of higher office. I really don’t have a good line to draw on that one. Where? Exposing oneself at a dorm party? My cousin dropped trou at a drunken revel in front of a zillion people. He would have made a great justice though. Sexual assault over 18, to me, actually should forever get the person banned from highest appointment. Where should we draw the line?

If true, that’s pretty slick. Instead of getting another woman to come forward with another story, they get a bunch of students to email each other about it.

“Ramirez is a Senior Fellow at Soros’ Open Society Institute.”

I don’t think Feinstein’s hands are clean on this. She has been parsing words since this all began. Remember her first statement was that Ford contacted Congressman Eschoo and inferred that Eschoo sent Ford’s letter over to Feinstein’s office.

It appears Ford DID talk with Eschoo, but penned the letter to Fenstein directly. Even if Feinstein didn’t believe the contents of the letter, she shared the information with enough staffers that someone leaked the existence of the letter.

Feinstein then only gave a redacted version of the letter to Grassley. Why? Could it be because her own name was on the letter and that may subject her to an ethics violation charge?

I agree, especially with the latest BS from The New Yorker and Michael Avenatti that the left is being exposed, but most people know the left plays dirty anyway and yet they still win at the ballot box.

Too many people have bought into the “free stuff” philosophy the left espouses. I saw it everyday as a cop and also as a teacher. Critical thinking is not a part of everyday life. It’s what and who can I screw (no pun intended) to get something for nothing.

As for Fox...it’s all in the internals as to how the question was worded and the demographic makeup of the respondents.

News Flash!

Hence we begin the era of no males of any political
persuasion can be nominated for a position of justice
on the SCOTUS. What the conservative movement needs
is to institute a perpetual committee of both men
and women to monitor young, brite, liberal students
in every university. Various story lines could be
developed that could be used to put in jeopardy the
careers of these liberal upstarts if needed in the
near or distant future,

The dems most likely have been digging int Kavanaugh’s past. Every school he ever went to every position he’s ever held, to find some leftist woman that was willing to make up allegations. Both Ford and Ramirez have some sort of connection to a soros entity.

“After giving it really careful consideration for six days” = waiting for soros’ check to clear

Still no proof. Rumour, hearsay, gossip, slander, and scandal mongering do not rise to the level of credible allegations. Especially when it is very likely that somebody or somebodies planted the memory in a certain circle. It is not that difficult to get somebody to remember an event that never happened. Dishonest cops and prosecutors do this to get false confessions. Same basic tricks are done to get a false memory.

I have an idea that people in my generation are inherently honest

Come spend a few days here in the swamp in DC. We will disabuse you of that notion really quickly. To believe in honesty you first have to believe in objective reality. That isn't a dominant personal philosophy here in DC. Inside this padded cell safe-space for psychopaths what you believe is the only reality that matters, provided what you believe is the dominant ideology of the 96% who voted against Trump.

She decided to talk to Ronan Farrow? The Ronan who defended his dad, child molester Woody Allen. You can’t make this up.

Granted I came along at the end of the Silent Generation, but I find your "idea" ridiculous. I see no reason why year of birth will determine integrity.
