The Senate Judiciary Committee is postponing a high-stakes hearing set for early next week on the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The committee announced on Friday that the Monday hearing where both Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, had been invited to speak was being called off.
Instead, Grassley said in a statement Friday that he is giving Fords lawyers until 10 p.m. on Friday to respond to the GOP request for her to testify on Wednesday. If they do not, or if Ford declines to testify, Grassley said the Judiciary Committee will vote Monday on Kavanaugh's nomination.

My prediction? The Democrats are going to drag out a circuit court judge in that area and he'll issue a ruling stating that local police or sheriff's deputies are going to open an investigation into this... You heard it here first

She'll agree to the Wed. hearing, but by Monday will have some other excuse lined up as to why she can't attend.

Interesting, thanks for the link.
Outside counsel may not dictate the terms under which Committee business will be conducted.
Seems to me very straight forward. Ford's gang and hucksters are trying to violate Roberts Rules of Order (or whatever equivalent drives the Senate Judiciary Committee).

Consider what McConnell said this morning. He was quite confident that Judge Kavanaugh would sit on the Supreme Court. That wasn’t typical political bluster. He knows something. Several things more likely. More likely, McConnell and the Democrats know that her story can’t hold water and therefore the Democrats will not let her testify under oath. He also knows that he has the votes, probably because the four wobbly Senators have been briefed and have agreed that they will vote for Kavanaugh.
None of this stuff that has occurred today was by accident.

She surfs, in the Pacific Ocean, yet she is scared to fly.
I wonder if anyone is checking to see if she has flown in the past. It's hard for me to believe in this day that she hasn't considering her profession.

Not quite sure I understand the details, but the Senate vote had to occur by a certain date in order for Kavanaugh to hear the next round of cases scheduled for the next Supreme Court session.

‘Another weak cave. Grassley has in effect given in to her demands to cancel the hearings on Monday and moved it to Wednesday which is only a day short of the Thursday she asked for. How pathetic is that.
Senator Grassley, where is your spine? ‘
That is my take also.
Based on the gutless record of the Republican leadership.

Consider the time that she needs to invest, like writing the lies down, and having her leftist activist lawyers incorporate Democratic talking points into the lies. There is nothing even remotely democratic in what these Democrats are doing and have done for the last 10 years or so. Given the current state of the Democrat party, I respectfully submit that the term "Democratic" with a capital D is a total misnomer and should be avoided.

You heard it here first That thought occurred to me after hearing on Fox this morning that "strangely, there isn't a statute of limitations on this in Maryland".
If so, I expect a Freak State DA to get involved in this.

This clown fest is over. That’s too bad, too — because I was just starting to enjoy it.
Yes, I believe you are correct. I believe that she thought just the accusation would be enough for Justice Kavanaugh to withdraw. And when it didn’t happen Blase Ford started to wet herself as her legal minds told her the consequence of perury was to steep a price to pay.
So, Senator Finestein will pay the piper. Christine can go back to Palo Alto a heroine for having dared to bring him down.
