maybe it is just the opposite. Given the turn in the B.K. rat fest...
They need to shift the publics attention away from the story as it burns.

I am not convinced of that at this point. They certainly interact but the real forces of evil do not seem to let Congress in completely on their plans. I think they view Congress as a tool and detest them - a means to an end.

CNBC reporting that Rosenstein says story is inaccurate.
He didn't suggest these things in the spring; it was summer instead.

So the main purveyor of fake news is now believable? Probably an attempt to get Trump to fire him.

Part of the Friday dump that will dominate the Sunday shows and deflect from the Kavanaugh debacle. Add to this the story of Cohen spilling his guts to Mueller.

Rosenstein’s denial is a bunch of weaselly lawyer jargon. I believe the story is true just by the way he has handled the Mueller probe (the latitude he gave the special prosecutor). His action show that he wants to take down President Trump.

How did we get all these losers in the government. They must have been willing to do the “dirty work” for congress for something. This is getting so old.

This nation has become complacent, lazy, and no knowledge of history or what makes a great nation and what destroys a once great nation.
Two generations have been lulled into a dangerous fragile safe zone, that nothing can take what they have.

Trying to figure that out myself. What does the NYT have to win by implicating Rosenstein ?
It’s not like they are an organization with non partisan journalistic integrity.

Suddenly the NYT is truthful?
I wonder if they just realized that Rosenstein is actually a “white-hat” and are now trying to neutralize him.

McCabe is specifically quoted as a source in this story. As is those who “viewed memos” from DOJ FBI officials (this is Comey’s MO)
This is revenge by Comey and McCabe and ???
likely motives: revenge against Rosenstein, disrupt Kavanaugh, get Trump, hurt Repubs in the election
If this story is believed, it works for all those motives.
