Two years after their shockingly great 50th anniversary album, Good Times! which gave them their highest showing on the Billboard album chart since 1968 the Monkees have returned to the studio to cut Christmas Party, their first holiday album. Set for release October 12th, the album is produced by Fountain of Waynes Adam Schlesinger, with new vocals by surviving Monkees Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork along with vintage recordings of the late Davy Jones.

I always thought it interesting that a band created for a TV show were actually pretty good.
Didn’t Nesmith’s mom invent whiteout?
Yes she did. Nesmith has also made some surprisingly good countryish solo albums.
Someone always says that in a Monkees thread!!
That’s rayciss!

I saw Mickey Dolenz in the Broadway production of Aida in 2004.He was excellent.

The Monkees is a racist name for a group.
They are not considered authentic because they did not write their own somgs or play their own instruments, just like the performers at Motown, and many of the other acts that used Brill Building authors and Wrecking Crew studio instruments.
Create Blackout.
Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!!!
That’s for sure
Already done = Sharpie
Mickey, Davy and Mike really could sing, though, and while the Wrecking Crew may have played on their albums, I believe Mickey, Peter and Mike could play their instruments. Not sure about Davy.
Enough tequila will suffice but I didn’t invent but I have been a customer (in the past).
