Key GOP Senators who have tried to give Christine Blasey Ford the benefit of the doubt are losing patience. She keeps moving the goalpost concerning what she wants done about her claim that SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36 years ago. In fact, her July letter to Democrat Dianne Feinstein outlining her accusations has yet to be shared with Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley. He issued yet another formal request yesterday.
But Senator Feinstein and Dr. Ford have been playing games from the start and aren’t likely to stop. When they finally revealed the existence of the letter and asked that it be considered before the vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation, Ford insisted on remaining anonymous. When the gross inequity of that was pointed out, her attorneys claimed she would testify before the committee. Yet when the committee invited her, Ford’s lawyers moved the goalpost again:
While Dr. Ford’s life was being turned upside down, you and your staff scheduled a public hearing for her to testify at the same table as Judge Kavanaugh in front of two dozen U.S. Senators on national television to relive this traumatic and harrowing incident.The hearing was scheduled for six short days from today and would include interrogation by Senators who appear to have made up their minds.…There are three false assertions in this single passage: First, she was offered the choice of testifying in a private session, where she wouldn’t be subjected to television coverage. Second, no one has ever insisted that she sit at the same table with Judge Kavanaugh. Finally, not a single GOP member of the Judiciary Committee has said anything that could reasonably be interpreted as indicative of a preconceived judgment.

She will not testify because perjury is illegal.
It’s all fun and games writing letters to your Congressman, but lying under oath has consequences.
Why do Republicans keep playing games with these people?
Kavanaugh is being falsely accused——disqualified based on unprosecuted, unprovable, and largely unremembered, and alleged, HS misconduct......
Democrats are political hitmen, engaging in “Republican-bashing.”
They seem to have a complete collection of “Stop The Republicans” fables.
No need to actually “prove” anything.
Just put it out there and watch the Republicans squirm.
Democrats want to kill the Kavanaugh nomination.
They have no interest in getting to the bottom of an alleged forty year old incident.
That’s why they keep moving the goalposts. They want to keep him off the court.
The truth or the lack of it, is beside the point.
First question they need to ask if she ever disrobed for the delight of any of her high school friends, and bring in the guys she danced for. In boys in High School, we KNEW each of us which was the hussy, and which one was giving away the stuff. She probably has some skeletons in her closet she needs to have drug out. He that is without sin, SHOULD cast the first stone.
Christine Blasey Ford has already completed her mission, which was to tarnish Kavanaugh’s reputation, add to the narrative that Republicans are “anti-woman”, provide an excuse to a few RINOs and red-state Democrats and delay the confirmation hearing as much as possible.
Any public testimony or further investigation of her claims would be counter-productive. That is why the Democrats are calling in lock-step for an FBI investigation, which they all know could never happen.
The reason she wants the investigation to be conducted in advance is so she can tailor her testimony in such a way that she does not contradict any verifiable fact. That is how she avoids a perjury charge.
But if she says a lot of things that are proven to be false in a subsequent investigation, she has a problem.

Maybe she will wait until after the deadline, then say that she will testify so that she can accuse Grassley of preventing her.
Her statement is vague enough so it can never be tested.
Karl Popper would call it an unverifiable assumption.
You can take it or leave it as it stands.
About what SHE wants done? Some unknown lying bitch comes out of the woodwork and immediately starts making demands about governmental procedure? Beyond chutzpah.
I think she will wait until Sunday and tell Grassley she’s changed her mind and will appear but needs “a few more days to prepare”. Delay delay delay make the SC 4-4 until next year.

Do you think facts matter at all here? The Democrats would love nothing more than to see Ford’s sordid high-school past exposed by Republicans investigating her background. The narrative of a woman being dragged through the mud for accusing a powerful Republican man of sexual misdeeds would be priceless to Democrat political strategists.
It has been frustrating to watch Grassley and others use restraint in their handling of Ford’s accusations, but it is the only way to approach a situation like this.
Whatever is necessary to leave Brett Kavanaugh twisting in the wind like Merrick Garland.
For the Rats, turnabout is fair play, indeed. They just are serving Republicans up their richly deserved desserts.
As they see it, they’re under no obligation whatsoever to play fair.
So is she going to be receiving more death threats and be forced to move AGAIN if she testifies?

I expect the next location of the goalposts will involve something like she won’t testify unless she’s permitted to have 100 character witnesses testify as well.
When Grassley says go pound sand, they’ll whine like babies about how unfair it is.
Since there’s no way Dems can win this, they’ll use it for as much political advantage as they can eke out.
