Are you better off now than you were two years ago?
Republicans should ask voters this key question during the 2018 midterms. It would shift the debate from the childish and shrill Resistance to the mature and optimistic topic of results. By nearly any measure, Washingtons unified Republican government has improved things for every American since the last election.
The economy is roaring, thanks to Republican public policy. Obamas You didnt build that, anti-business hectoring has been replaced by gratitude. For each new federal regulation, 22 asphyxiating rules have been scrapped. And $1.5 trillion in GOP tax cuts have supplied widespread levy relief and concrete incentives to work and produce despite unanimous Democratic opposition.
The effects are stunning.

Republicans need to make this a major campaign theme.
Absolutely better off. Agree with Deroy.
It’s the RINO Republicans and the Anti-Trump Republicans who are preventing the entire GOP from Definitive Political Victory and political victories by much wider margins! RINOS didn’t mind Political Minority Status, as long as they were, continuously, invited to parties.
>Republicans need to make this a major campaign theme.
Why? It wasn’t of THEIR making.
They would dragged, fighting tooth-n-nail, against everything Trump wanted as well as what they promised to GET into D.C.
- NO wall funding
- $1T+ deficits
- NO de-funding of PP, NPR, NEA, etc.
- NO repeal of O’Care
- NO across the board tax-cuts
- Maj. support Meuller/Sessions (even threatening the Pres. should he fire any body else)
- Sat on their thumbs while Deep State thumbed their noses
- NO voter ID
- NO shrinking of govt (see #2, 3, 4...)
Aside from the corp. tax-cuts, I can’t think of ANYTHING else they’ve done that wasn’t in opposition to the (R) platform or the will of the People.
What is your point?
Vote Democrat because they would do everything on that list?
LOL
Fool, go back to DU
In the good ol days when voters were rational that would work. Im not sure it will anymore.
I am a self employed structural drafter... after not having enough work to hardly live on without selling stuff I owned to supplement the bills and have food on the table for almost 6 years, I am now so busy I have had to turn away work for the first time ever. Lucky too, I was running out of stuff to sell.
Instead of 8 to 10 hours doing a patio or room addition on a house, like I had been doing, I just finished a $7.5 mil. school addition again. Too bad I don’t get a percentage of construction as a fee, but I did finally give myself a nice raise this year for the first time in 10 years.
Can't tell you how sick I am of fake news and Dems dirty games.
I believe a good number of establishment republicans would rather see democrats win the house and senate than do anything to assist president Trump.
This assumes they want to hold Congress.
F* off w/ the DU bullshit. You’re just ‘bout as bad as the (D) themselves w/ those false dichotomies (HINT: There’s more than two parties).
But, please, keep supporting the Uniparty; they’ve done *SO* well so far. They need all the low-brows they can muster.
Then again, the opposition is touting rolling back the policies that made things better or diving into socialistic programs that will set back the economy 3 years.
Honestly think that the Republican’s best option is to push forward future agenda rather than relying on the last two years.
Yes. And if anti-Trump, uniparty Democrats and RINOs left over from the lawless Obama Administration had not obstructed Pres. Trumps vision for MAGA, evidenced by slow progress on Trumps wall and the inexcusably last-minute, couple thousand pages long Omnibus spending bill, then wed be even better off.
Trump Signs Omnibus Spending Bill: I Will Never Sign Another Bill Like This
Patriots need to fire as many corrupt career lawmakers as they can in the 2018 midterm elections, replacing them will state sovereignty-respecting, Trump-supporting patriot lawmakers who will support Trump's vision for MAGA.
That would require a smart republican party.
“Republicans need to make this a major campaign theme.”
One reason the GOP is polling so poorly is less than 2 months away from election day they have no campaign theme. The ugly truth is the party stands 100% to provide economic benefits from the treasury for the donor class. For the voter the party has been unwilling to build the wall, unwilling to end failed social programs and exorbitant subsidies of social justice organizations, unable to repeal Obamacare, unwilling to support the president of their own party, unable to counter Democrat obstructionism, unable to bring the nation’s fiscal house in order, unable to simplify the tax system, unable to support fair trade, and unable to pass the president’s nominees through the Senate thereby allowing the administration to be sabotaged by Obama holdovers.
Once again the choice is between a communist democrat and a self serving GOP pig giving lip service to the base and taking my vote for granted.
The GOP could have updated the 1994 Contract for America and run on a conservative platform with conservative patriotic candidates. If they had done so they would be increasing majorities in both houses. Instead, they are hoping to squeak by. Pathetic creatures they are. The Republican Party is simply unable to govern.
He couldn’t have done it without Congress.
Since my perception, as a voter, is pretty much paramount to securing my vote, I’ll go with he did it despite congress who threw up repeated roadblocks (not to mention permitting this almost two year old witch hunt...)
I’ll stand pat on my opinion that if the GOP wishes to retain congress (which I don’t think they’re going to lose) it’d be far wiser for them to push agenda items as to what people are electing them to go to congress to do.
Let the Democrats circle their wagons around ‘we’d just undo everything Trump did or wants to do.’ Not a winning agenda, but by any rational thought, should have a pretty easy ride to retaking the House in a midterm after the change of White House.
I think Democrats will closen up the house by a couple seats only, and lose a seat in the Senate. I think that if the GOP actually started playing as a team with the White House, it’d be a net gain of two seats in the Senate and four in the House.
bump
The time for that was during the primary season
Do you think the Democrats will work with President Trump better then the republicans?
So go back to DU and complain about the republicans during general election season.
