A Michigan teen accused of fatally stabbing a classmate was smiling and laughing during the attack, according to reports.
Two dozen students watched in horror as Tanaya Lewis, 17, killed Danyna Gibson, 16, with a kitchen knife in a classroom Wednesday at Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Mich., Fox 2 Detroit reported Friday.
Witnesses said the defendant was smiling and laughing as she was chasing the victim, Detective Donald Seidel of the Warren Police Department told a judge Friday, WXYZ-TV reported Saturday.
One blow penetrated Danynas heart, the station reported.
Prosecutors said Lewis screamed, Im going to kill her as a teacher tried to shove her out of the classroom, according to the station.
Police said there was animosity between the two straight-A students over a boy.
Lewis is being held without bail on a capital murder charge.
She said "yes" to the judge when asked if she understood that she is facing life behind bars without parole.

“Two dozen students watched in horror as Tanaya Lewis, 17, killed Danyna Gibson, 16, with a kitchen knife in a classroom Wednesday at Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Mich.”
You would think at least one of the 24 students “watching in horror” could have maybe tried to intervene throw a book or chair or something at the girl.
“Two straight A students? You would think that both would recognize there is no point in fighting over a boy.”
Since ZERO students in that school met math target goals, I am a little suspect of those grades ...
“....there was animosity between the two straight-A students over a boy.”
Some of this is believable.
Did the attacker get the boy for a boyfriend?
I’m guessing not.
Two straight A students? 25 years ago there was an article in the Chicago Tribune about the valedictorian and egalitarian from a Chicago high school both went to Malcolm X JC. The college put them in remedial math and eng!ish courses because they were not prepared for college level work.
Grades are relative . Intelligence and grades don’t have to follow the same path.
Not such a happy story for the murdered girl, either.
Let’s not forget the actual victim instead of focusing (as the propaganda media wants us to) on the living impacted by the crime. Their goal is to make us think less of the victim so that we think less of the perpetrator and turn our focus to those associated with the victim as a sort of “collective” perspective on what the propaganda media wants to turn into more of a hypothetical situation than an actual crime.
By turning crime into “reality TV” and making it hypothetical, the propaganda media is better able to soften our views (and conviction and punishment) of the perpetrator. It also shifts our focus away from the Left’s involvement in the spiking of violent crime coupled with the diminishing respect for human life brought on by the entire suite of their socio-political world view and political agenda.

So...both want the same boy.
A competition between the ugly one and the pretty one.
And the pretty one won?
Surprise.
No doubt, the ugly one will get the boy now, now that she offed her rival.
Or so she thought?
Sure she was an “A” student, with that kind of logic?
Doesn’t sound too smart to me.
My bad. 6.8% of A-A students met the goals. Lots of challenges listed by school but only ONE initiative listed!
Key challenges at Fitzgerald High School supported by the data in the AER report are:
Only 15.69 % of Students with Disabilities and 18.18% of ELL students met the
growth target for ELA.
0% of ELL students met the growth target in Math, or reached proficiency.
6.83% of African American students met the Math growth target.
32% of students are proficient in ELA compared to a 46% proficiency level
statewide.
11% of students are proficient in MATH compared to a 35% proficiency level
statewide.
Key initiatives being undertaken in the school to accelerate student achievement and
close persistent gaps in achievement are:
Data system for three tiered model of instruction
Ban kitchen knives.
Fighting over a boy who probably wasn’t worth a plug nickel.
Or a fist?
Were they recording it on their cell-phones and yelling, "World Star?"

Nail. On. The. Head. They may have all been too interested in the ‘thrill of the kill,’ as shown by all those folks who love to watch Gladiator-type shows. Touches the bare bottom of the social rung. And a person’s intellectual knowledge is no indicator of their moral/ethics.
You can’t fix stupid!!!
In today's educational climate, plus being Michigan, that's not particularly remarkable.
“Fighting over a boy...”
Who’s probably knocking up Shaqckuilia over there as they were fighting it out over him...
Why in the hell did those moron just stand by and watch while this was happening? It really angers me that bystanders would prefer to record these things than actually help out.
“Police said there was animosity between the two straight-A students over a boy.”
Don’t worry Tanaya. You can still get you GED in prison...and then go on to get your law degree via online courses...and then appeal your sentence. You might even win a parole by the time you’re 75.
Oh, and you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a boyish girl to spend time with...
And probably posting it on Facebook.
