To be loving does not mean to be gullible. Jesus Christ mentions that we will come across dishonest people, especially among those who have prestige (or are seeking it). We should love people, but that does not mean we should let them take advantage of us. Or fool us. Or trick us.
In that spirit, I want Rosaria Butterfield, Sam Allberry, and Jackie Hill Perry to answer a simple yes-or-no question. No long filibustering paragraphs. No detours into extensive complaints about what other Christians are supposedly doing. No lifeline block-quotes from Augustine. Just yes or no. Here:
Do you agree with the Anglican church's ban on conversion therapy?
Yes or no.
Here's why this question is urgent. Butterfield, Allberry, and Perry are currently superstars in the world of Protestant Christianity, constantly summoned to discuss issues of sexuality in the church. They all had experience with same-sex attraction. They all say they believe in Christ.
And they all attack conversion therapy.

Yeah, whack his pee pee.
I know and have read about people that have various mental disorders, such as OCD that become gay, then want to, or do become transexuals. I wonder if being able to “chose” their sexual lifestyle gives them a feeling of control over their minds and bodies, rather than the OCD or whatever other mental disorder they feel is controlling them.
Of course it is a false control - hence the ramping up from gay (mental) to trans (physical). And then often suicide, once they realize that they still are not in control. Of course as with many problems in life, it is not our job to change - it is to allow God to change us.
A little quibble: sexual orientation is most likely of prenatal origin. The brain/sex connection has a very small window of time in fetal development. There is evidence that the womb environment has an epigenetic (environmental) influence on said development.
I have personal experience with men who have survived horrific sex abuse st the hands of male authorities and none that I know of became gay. Even if they went on to be subjects of seduction by other males, their personal attraction was toward women. I know men thst were raped as children by a man that are happily married to women.
It’s not about control...they are sexual deviants who cannot accept that they are deviants.....much much easier to say whatever the latest ‘sexual trend’ is that’s feeding the public. That’s why they’re never satisfied....they never address their real problem..
