A report on Monday claimed that U.S. intelligence has determined that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has already made a decision to use chemical weapons against enemy positions in Idlib as his forces, combined with Russian airpower, attack the last rebel stronghold following seven years of civil war.
The Wall Street Journal [source], citing unnamed intelligence sources, even noted the type of gas Assad has allegedly chosen: Chlorine gas, which was first used in World War I and has the effect of an asphyxiation compound.
In addition, according to sources who spoke to the WSJ, President Donald Trump has also reportedly threatened to intervene militarily with a massive attack against the Assad regime if he uses gas and other tactics that result in a massacre. U.S. officials and diplomats are concerned about the extensive loss of life among the civilian population, especially.

The report is not trustworthy.
Any secretive chemical attacks allegedly would have lityle or no military value and would only give the Bolton/Haley axis the excuse they need to urge an attack.
This is a farce.
In WWI the Germans mounted a phosgene attack at Ypres. “Phosgene was a potent killing agent, deadlier than chlorine. In the first combined chlorine–phosgene attack by Germany, against British troops at Wieltje near Ypres, Belgium on 19 December 1915, 88 tons of the gas were released from around 1100 cylinders causing 1069 casualties and 69 deaths.” The Germans used it is an advantageous damp and humid European environment.
But Germans are hopelessly challenged by technology and struggle with efficiency. The noted efficiency experts of Assad’s Syrian army, will be able to drop 2 or 3 cylinders from a helicopter. And that 3 or 400 pounds of gas in a windy desert environment will probably kill 20 or 30 people. The Syrians will accomplish the same results as Germany only using 0.5% of the gas.
