Dallas police say one of their officers was going home after her shift when she walked into the wrong apartment and shot and killed the man inside.
The officer was in full uniform just after 10 p.m. Thursday evening when she walked into an apartment unit she believed to be her own at the 1200 block of South Lamar, about a quarter-mile from the Dallas Police Department.

Stoned &or Drunk, waiting for name to verify other assumptions ??
About a year after buying a house from an older couple, we were watching TV one night when the door popped open and a guy said “Mom? Oh right, they moved.”
He had been trying to call his mom and when she didn’t answer, he drove over. Worried about her, he forgot they moved.
So... she commonly left her door unlocked? This story is just odd. She apparently also decided to ‘shoot first and ask questions never’.
Sounds like she may have had a few cocktails after getting off duty.
“Just a cop doing what she is trained to do. Shoot anything that moves.”
Betty Shelby types all over the place.
Vic’s been ID’d...

Botham Shem Jean.
Apartment had a better view?
When one of my cousins was 16 yrs old she used to regularly outshoot her fathers fellow deputy sheriffs, and I did the same in my early 20’s at the same facility.
Statistically civilan shooter outscore “trained LEOs”. A lot.
You leave Ziva out of this.
You bought a house, and did not change the locks?
This does not pass the smell test.
Story sounds fugazi, not buying it.
Surfed into it with Mrs WBill last night. She asked: "Who do you think did it?"
I said, "The White Guy." "Really, why??"
"Because on L&O if you have the choice of a dozen suspects and only one of them is a normal white guy, it will be him, no matter how convoluted the plot needs to be to prove it."
I was right, and she changed the channel. That show is so predictable. I do enjoy seeing Lenny Briscoe occasionally, though. I think that character and I would see eye-to-eye on quite a bit. :-)
Murder.
Maybe 1stcertainly 2nd degree.

Can’t we at least get her side of the story before we rush to judgment?
Departments are finding it difficult now to attract good people due to the widespread ant-cop attitude in society. ...
And yet the widespread ant-cop attitude in society is partially a result of hiring unqualified people!
It's like a snake eating its own tail, or something.
All I know is we should continue to lower standards and hire losers from the ghetto. That'll fix the problem, /s.
The same way that they do a "Dynamic Entry" Warrant at the WRONG ADDRESS...
It’s obviously his fault for not being in her apartment instead of his own.
Internal affairs will clear her. Wanna put $5 to be donated to FR on it?
