COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colin Kaepernick sparked a nationwide debate when he took a knee during the National Anthem ahead of NFL games in protest of police brutality, but a store in a Colorado Springs mall is making a stand against Nike after the company picked Kaepernick as the face of its newest ad campaign.
Prime Time Sports in the Chapel Hills Mall has a large sign festooned on the window saying "All Nike 1/2 Price" and "Still Choosing to Stand, Just Doing It."
Prime Time Sports has been owned by Stephen Martin for 21 years, and he realizes he could go out of business because a large part of his inventory is the collection of NFL jerseys he offers -- those official jerseys will be exclusive to Nike.
Nike published an ad this week with Kaepernick's face and the words "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything."
Martin sent a strongly worded letter to Nike in response to the company's decision to use Kaepernick in the ad. Martin calls the company "the mother of all harlots" for their ad campaign, calling into question their use of the phrase "sacrificed everything."
"According to me, he has sacrificed a salary," Martin posted in a note on the window of Prime Time Sports. The note is surrounded by pictures of fallen service members. "Nothing compared to what every soul on our 'Honor the Flag' memorial wall that was built a few years ago has suffered and died for."

#15 et all. Can anyone contact the cartoonist Ben Garrison? I can’t find an address.
I want him to draw the following cartoon and I’ll explain why after I describe it.
Two-paneled drawing.
The left side shows an old “NIKE-ZEUS” anti-aircraft missile from the 50’s/60’s which guarded America’s coasts and cities, in an upright firing position with the caption -” GUARDING AMERICA - 1950s/60s”.
The right-panel drawing would be Kaepernick’s face with the caption - “ATTACKING AMERICA 2015-2018” with a subcaption of ‘THERE IS A DIFFERENCE’.
Right now I’m doing some legal research on military procurement in the past and am finding documents about the NIKE series of AA missiles, among many other types of rockets.
The NIKE was literally the first real Serious US anti-aircraft missile put into nationwide operations, and when I was a kid, I saw photos of them in their operations pits, some not to far from my house.
NIKE stood for strength back then, not stupidity and treason.
The younger generation should know about this.
Any help you freepers can give me on contacting Garrison would be appreciated.
The more “Nike” gets paired with the phrase “Asian sweatshop workers”, the merrier.
New Balance is gonna have a sales spike.....
Half price sell is still covering his overhead since products are marked up about 75% or more.
Good idea
Not even, nobody wanted him.
But what stuck with me from the ad was Nike's use of the words "sacrificed everything", obviously a reference to Kaepernick. To me, those words in today's context bring to mind our American past and present military heroes and martyrs, and fallen and injured law enforcement officers.
These words do not belong being applied to anything pertaining to a rich, fortune-hunting, egotistical, caveman-coiffed, unpatriotic ex-football pro who hasn't sacrificed ANYTHING and who has now transitioned from highly-paid athlete to the recipient of million$ in income as a flack for a multi-national sports company..... a company which specializes in third-world Asian slave-labor sweat shops to manufacture its goods, including employing child labor, plus setting up shady overseas financial ways to avoid paying American taxes.
I urge a boycott on this shameful Nike corporation....however, conservatives are notoriously lousy at boycotting....and I doubt that no more than a few of the thousands reading this thread will bother to contact the company or their local sporting goods chains with their opinions and intentions.

New Balance has been the best Dad shoe for some years.
NUKE NIKE
I am joining this Nike boycott! But must admit I did like Nike’s golf shoes, but there are plenty of options out there.
See # 28 !

What they should have done is jacked the prices *UP*, letting the inventory to rot, and forcing Nike to pull it from the store.
