President Trump on Wednesday called for the New York Times to reveal the name of the anonymous administration official who wrote an op-ed article blasting him.
“Does the so-called ‘Senior Administration Official’ really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!” the president wrote in a tweet posted online at about 7:45 p.m.
The Times said in an explanation that went along with the op-ed — which was published Wednesday afternoon — that it knew the identity of the “senior official in the Trump administration” but was keeping it secret because the person’s job would be jeopardized. “We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers,” the Times wrote.
In the piece, the official, who is described as part of the “resistance,” said that “many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of [Trump’s] agenda and his worst inclinations.”
In anger over this, Trump earlier in the evening Wednesday tweeted only the word “TREASON?”

Then the Times will be forced to admit it's fake, and will lose face in front of the whole world.
Elsewhere, I saw a post indicating that the President has already initiated an investigation to get to the bottom of this.
If so, the Times is screwed either way.

I don’t think there is any “official” behind this likely work of fiction.
Why would you think it’s fiction? We just saw at the Kavanaugh hearing a sitting US Senator take a not so veiled shot at a POTUS of his own party. Why would you think there would be any different attitude amongst some of the beltway careerists on his staff? As long as elected members of the GOP are greening lighting these type of attacks on POTUS it will certainly continue.

Have the ny times raided, have all their computers and cell phones seized.
Raid their homes, and likewise seize phones, computers, etc.
The ny times has proven themselves to be an existential threat to national security.
Military force should IMO be authorized in this case to apprehend the editors and writers and have them sent to GITMO, or have them “renditioned” in a undisclosed country.

Unless the writer of the article outs her or himself, we will never know who the person, is and the NYT is not going to reveal the name.
They ALL need to get lie detector tests, if they refuse, fire them.
Speculation online that it is V.P. Pence because of use of the word “dialogue” spelt old style the way he does it, and the use of the word “lodestar” which he has used in several speeches, even used it while giving McCain’s funeral address. If so, and I find it hard to believe, he is a crafty devil because if Prez. Trump gets deposed, he’d step into the slot. But I’d be more inclined to believe the Dems used that phraseology knowing it was Pence’s phrasing, figuring they could kill both birds with one stone, and Ryan would get in (UGH to that).
In other words, the claim is *not* that the person passed a tip to a reporter. The person in question is acting as an agent of the press, and at the same time, a member of the same U.S. government that the same person is libeling in full view of the leaders of foreign nations.
In essence, the person is weakening national security in front of the eyes of foreign enemies and other foreign nations.
If a member of our U.S. government is legally allowed to damage our national security anonymously as an infiltrating antagonist and a member of the press, that person needs to be fired. Also if legal, that’s a problem that needs to be solved in the legislature. If it’s not legal, that person needs to be found and prosecuted.
Most of what the NYT does is fake.
