White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders ripped the anonymous senior White House staffer who wrote an op-ed for the New York Times slamming President Trumps conduct.
The individual behind this piece has chosen to deceive, rather than support, the duly elected President of the United States, she said in a statement. He is not putting country first, but putting himself and his ego ahead of the will of the American people.
This coward should do the right thing and resign, she added.
The statement follows criticism from Trump himself, who called the op-eds author gutless.
The author of the op-ed wrote that there are multiple people in the administration who are acting as a check on the presidents misguided impulses.
We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous. But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic. That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trumps more misguided impulses until he is out of office, the staffer writes.
The White House aide says meetings with Trump often veer off topic and off the rails and slams the president as amoral.
The root of the problem is the presidents amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making, the staffer says.
Any successes from the White House have come despite not because of the presidents leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective, the author wrote.
he adds.
Sanders statement also issued a defense of the president.
President Trump has laid out a bold and ambitious agenda. Every day since taking office, he has fulfilled the promises he made. His accomplishments in less than two years have been astounding, she said.
The Trump administration has repeatedly railed against The New York Times, slamming it as fake news and labeling it the failing New York Times.
We are disappointed, but not surprised, that the paper chose to publish this pathetic, reckless and selfish op-ed. This is a new low for the so-called paper of record, and it should issue an apology
This is just another example of the liberal medias concerted effort to discredit the president, Sanders said.
the left, so completely out of bullets, have enlisted Woodward and Bernstein for:
Deepthoat II - The Amoral
only today we have the internet and can call out the lies faster than they can make them up
now those two bastards are soiling themselves in public all over the place and stink worse than an outdoor concert port-a-potty
These recycled accusations are the same things they’ve been saying about POTUS since before he was inaugurated.
The left is so intellectually bankrupt they can’t even make up new lies.
Gutless is what mob rule is all about. Leftism in action. Gutless.
After 2001 Attacks, Bush made then claim that the intel would try to infiltrate Al Quaeda and divide them and turn them against each other.
These guys don’t have many new ideas, and they may be trying the same here.
Getting everyone excited over a “mole hunt” for a non existent mole is a divide and conquer strategy.
The irony is that this validates Trumps claims of a deep state, is going to make nonMAGA white house staffers even more reluctant to advocate Trump breaking his promises, and accelerate efforts to clean out GOPe globalists.
Pray for President Trump !
Actually, that was my first thought. My wife suggested Pence or Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
I recently reviewed his escalator speech announcing his bid for the Presidency in 2015. Point for point, he has been busily implementing all the items he went through in that speech, and has repeated them at every rally. Impulsive? Hardly. No first principles? Only to willfully blind idiots.
Every POTUS has sometimes relied on his close staff to talk him out of an impulsive or rash moves. But none have ever written an anonymous op ed piece going public about it. What was the purpose, anyway? I’d have to say it was intended to undermine the POTUS, and if that’s what they’re after, they are sneak thieves and spies, and I hope POTUS or Kelly identifies them and tosses them to the curb on the respective ears of all their respective faces.
No he didn’t and that supposition is STUPID!
Serious question: What credible evidence do you have that this individual even exists?
Like the President said; if the article states it’s from an anonymous source - stop reading. It’s a lie. Fake news.
Thanks jaz...
The spikes again displays both desperation and dishonesty. Liars lie...That is what they do.
George Conway does not work for the administration, he’s in a private law firm.
Yes, it's way past time for military tribunals, treason trials and hangings on the national mall, Mr. President.
My first thought was Kelly Ann. I dont think Jeff could stay awake long enough to write the article and I wonder if hes bright enough to put together that many words.
Assuming this isn't made up, and I'm not about to discount that, I agree with you completely.
Is that the liar ‘journalist’ Jayson Blair?
Pence would be a good guess...Sarah Sanders? No.
Actually, that was my first thought. My wife suggested Pence or Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

I wouldn’t trust Pence as far as I could throw him (even though I don’t think it’s him).
Sarah I’d trust 100%. Her father has been very impressive in his support of the President, and I think he means it. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Her husband maybe...
