Facebook prevents us from advertising Fox News stories about our research on shootings

Our attempts this week to put up ads on Facebook produced some disturbing results. Facebook treated a news link from Fox News and a link to our website very differently, even though both contained the same information. We have previously been prevented many times from linking to our Fox News opinion pieces, but we hadnt thought about the issue of systematic bias against Fox News until the events of this week.

Facebook should change its name to CensorBook. If they don’t like what you have to say; you will be block, suspended, or banned.
In other news I hear small businesses are running away from FakeBook. This is good news.

Bias that needs to be called out. Maybe monopolistic behavior? Seems there should be serious investigation. Individuals and companies that lose revenue and are demonetized should have grounds to sue. Where’s FTC, DOJ, etc. investigations?

It still blows my mind why my patriot friends, family and even my wife - including all of the people here at FR even use that ridiculous site.
And everyone says “I keep in touch with old friends and distant family”
Pick up a phone.

It’s time conservatives stopped demanding equal access on liberal territory. Don Jr is right. Conservatives need to build their own platforms. There is a huge market for it just as there was a market for Foxnews when it came along, and if done right it can do to facebook what Foxnews did to the MSM.

sue for what??
FB is a private company.. while some might disagree, there is no first amendment right there. If laws or precedence is created to control or force FB to do something, they will use the same tactics against FR and other sites.
It’s a battle we don’t want to start.

I think as we near the 2020 presidential election, there will be massive issues with Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter...with public confidence spiraling. Their business model? It’ll be in decline for the first time ever and stock-holders will be demanding answers.

Conservatives need to build their own platforms.
That would be the logical route to take - under normal circumstances. But we are not living in what could be called normal circumstances. Stop, look & listen - the techno tyrants aren't gonna allow alternatives. Efforts would be made to co-opt from the inside - how could employees be screened to not be adversarial. The IT profession is awash in socialist millennials. Could a company even get away with attempting such screening these days - doubt so. Someone would leak such an effort, and a derogatory pile-on by the left would ensue, which would feed into a coordinated effort to damage the brand. Efforts would be made to buy out alternative platforms, to be another cog in the Google/Facebook machine or subsequently dissolved after acquisition, removing the threat. Lawfare could be employed, suits filed claiming IP violations - that their platform was copied, code "stolen" or some such, tied up in legal actions in friendly courts until the end of time, destroying any fledgling company with legal fees if they were to try to contest the allegations. We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
They have declared and demonstrated their agendas and intent, time and time again. It's
war, and they are conducting themselves as such.
