Labor Day 2018 begins with a developing tropical system affecting South Florida. Conditions appear to be conducive for development as the system moves over the Florida Keys and into the Gulf of Mexico Monday.

Did the storm get close enough to SW FL to help/hurt the algae/Red Tide issues?Too soon to know whether TS Gordon had an effect on the red tide. Between the storm and the algae, however, tourism was hurt for FL Gulf Coast businesses over Labor Day weekend.
