The US Secret Service will send their Men In Black to do a security sweep of Dublin and Doonbeg ahead of Donald Trumps visit in November.
White House confirmation of the two-day trip presents a headache for the Defence Forces who will be braced for large-scale protests.
A source said a massive Garda and security operation is needed to safeguard the US President, who met with huge protests on a recent trip to the UK.
Trump stirred up a political storm during the four-day visit after criticising British Prime Minister Teresa May in a newspaper interview.
He was then snubbed by Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and a giant blimp depicting him as a nappy-wearing baby was flown over Westminster and in Edinburgh.
Trump, 72, and his wife Melania will travel to Paris on November 11 for the 100th anniversary of the World War I Armistice and will stop by Irish shores on their way home.
The President and First Lady will fly on Air Force One but its not yet clear whether his hulking black Cadillac known as The Beast will ferry him around.
The bullet-proof vehicle, the biggest in their motorcade, weighs 4.5 tonnes and has reinforced tyres and its own oxygen supply.
During his 2011 visit to Ireland then-President Barack Obama left the car at home and used a spare limousine.
The Donald is expected to touch down on the first day in office for Irelands new president and Government sources said he will be given the full red carpet treatment.
Locals in Doonbeg are getting ready to roll out their own welcome for the US President whose nearby five-star Trump International Golf Links and Hotel employs more than 300 people.
Publican Tommy Tubridy, landlord of his family-run bar for over 40 years, told the Irish Sunday Mirror: Sure were only delighted to hear hes coming.
Were a small population of 800 and yes there will be a huge influx of people but its good for the village and great for tourism.
Tommy, who has perfected a knack for writing the initials DT in the creamy heads of pints of Guinness, said he would love if Mr and Mrs Trump dropped in for a tipple.
He added: We dont know what the plan is but it would be nice if his good wife Melania would come down and visit us and maybe the local school.
The Workers Party yesterday issued a statement claiming the Government was not speaking for the majority in welcoming President Trumps carefully choreographed photo opp.
Confirming they would organise protests, WP Cork City Councillor Ted Tynan told how there had been a groundswell of anger in the 24 hours since the trip was announced.
He said: There is a very deep and abiding connection between this country and the US but it is at its strongest and most genuine at the level of ordinary working-class people.
It is based, not on the fawning and false obsequiousness of the Taoiseach and Minister Coveney, but on the shared experiences of our people and their common struggles.
From Boston to Chicago and Seattle down to Texas millions of US citizens will welcome protests against Donald Trump during his Irish visit.
They will see through the insincere toadying of Irish politicians and many will wish they were able to join.
A Say Nope To The Dope rally organised by the Green Party will take place on November 10.
More than 3,000 people have responded to a Facebook event notice flagging the Dublin protest. Party leader Eamon Ryan added: Donald Trumps administration champions policies that are destroying our planet and destabilising international order.
He said the US presidency had reached new political depths by appealing to racism, misogyny, xenophobia and hatred.
Labour leader Brendan Howlin tweeted: Donald Trump has been no friend of democracy or human rights.
Ireland will not welcome a man with his record of discrimination, sexism and lies.
I guess there are hippies, peacecreeps and communists everywhere.
For goodness sake why is he going anywhere in western Europe especially there??
They play fast and loose with lies and insults, same as our leftist troublemakers. When I see the phrase "hippies, peacecreeps and communists" my mind instantly substituted "harpies, warmongers and torturers" which better portrays these leftist haters of truth and decency.
Ireland in full left socialist hate mode.
..... Hmmmm ..... That's actually standard procedure for the Secret Service when the President visits any where. They secure the entire area where the POTUS will be visiting and create a strict security bubble for wherever POTUS will be ....
They legalized abortion and teach their youth that homosexuality is normal.
With the depraved leadership of the once great Catholic Church, their path to destruction is established.
I’m sure the media will blow this out as symptomatic of how this “failed and hated” president deserves to be treated, as if other presidents didn’t have these sorts of concerns when they traveled.

Trump's coming to Ireland. We have a particularly virulent strain of social justice warriors here. The regressive media here will be more unhinged than usual. I cannot wait to see the hysterics of these people as they protest against a man that the lying mainstream media have brainwashed them into believing is the second coming of Hitler. :) lol
Men In Black? Really? The Irish have lost their minds.
“Ireland will not welcome a man with his record of discrimination, sexism and lies.
He must be young-——I grew up with Irishmen——LOL!
.
Now if he was an ill-tempered drunk...
“Now if he was an ill-tempered drunk...”
Or the Pope.
I have been to Ireland several times and have yet to feel any connection to any of them. I thank God that I am an American through and through.
After the recent homo-rally put on by the Pope, they’re going to need to order Lysol by the 55 gallon drum.
“Not the Irish!”
Blazing Saddles
And IRA Radicals still running about. They are the dangerous ones. They are expert in urban ambush and sniping.
I told this story at the time but it bears repeating:
In 2008, when McTurd was running for Pres., President Bush came to Dayton to do a fundraiser for him. It was held in the house of a friend, actually, a former student who had done really well.
My student said the Secret Service came in two weeks in advance and scouted trees, tall buildings (none) or other physical features. They checked his garage to see if it could handle “the Beast” which is so heavy it can collapse some garages. They interviewed neighbors. Satisfied, they left.
The day of, they showed up very early. He had answered a questionnaire about things like weapons in the house. He had some, told them, but said he had one pistol he couldn’t locate. They said, “Don’t worry about it.” With just an hour to go, they came in with a box of some sort-—metal detector I guess-—and went through the house, and found his gun, which had fallen down behind a bureau.
>>For goodness sake why is he going anywhere in western Europe especially there??<<
Exactly my question. I cannot think of a single valid reason for our President to subject himself and our country to the vitriolic abuse of the Irish Left. Screw those freaking morons.
I don’t recall President Obama having to endure endless Irish/British insults. Europeans are no friends of ours and it is time we moved on.
