Hollywoods portrayal of astronaut Neil Armstrong in the biopic First Man was quick to elicit the attention on Friday of aviation legend Gen. Chuck Yeager.
Social media platforms lit up before the weekend as news spread that Ryan Goslings latest film does not include the American flag being planted on the moon. Critics fretted that First Man would essentially turn Mr. Armstrong into a progressive caricature when Mr. Yeager, 95, weighed in.
Ryan Gosling is coming out with the movie First Man where it portrays Neil Armstrong as a liberal progressive anti-Trump (in spirit) non-flag waiver, a user identified as @ClarenceSwirly wrote. Probably agree with the National Anthem kneelers, too; at least in Hollywoods liberal imagination. For your Info.
Thats not the Neil Armstrong I knew, Mr. Yeager...

Maybe, but he’s earned it.
Yes, but the F86 took off on its own, Yeager was taken aloft via a USAF B-29 bomber.
Here's the Excel sheet for the "Never that Great" image just posted to show how it was constructed.

The “First” wasn’t based on how he got airborne.
I worked for a guy for a dozen years that was a fire-breathing fellow. He was an ex-drunk who sobered up without much help and remained too bitter. Many that worked for him below me had nothing but fear and loathing for him due to his in-your-face temper. He would be described as a “real asshole” by many.
However, there was a secret side to him that few but old friends and those working close to him saw clearly. He would do very generous acts and would almost always keep his action secret or somewhat hidden. He was great to work for after you understood his quirks.
He had a lower level payroll clerk that was about to loose her home. She was behind almost three mortgage payments. He gave the money personally for four payments to his Treasurer and told her to tell the clerk that a number of co-workers had chipped in but would like to remain secret. Saved this young woman’s world.
Was he an ass? Sure seemed that way to some, but also a good guy.
Maybe it will have the same fate as the latest Kevin Spacey movie with a sub $1k opening weekend.
Why disparage an authentic American hero? He escaped from the Germans after being shot down in WWII, saving another wounded pilot in the process. He flew and fought honorably. He was the first to break the sound barrier. Balls of steel. And he autographed one of my Yeager books, for which I’m grateful. May God bless General Yeager.
You have to be a brain-dead moron to expect Hollywood to get anything historically right today. It was bad enough when they just made mistakes. Today, it is all revisionism. The truth is being erased by Hollywood, the news, and the schools, in favor of Marxism.
America is done. Over. Put a fork in her. It is all over but the crying. Trump is a nice speed bump slowing them down. He is a nice rear-guard action preventing the left from chopping us to pieces as we retreat. But that is it. The battle is lost, and we are in full retreat.
Sucks huh? Sounds depressing, huh? Well, I didnt cause it. Dont blame me.
You are spot on. When Trump departs, the borders will disappear, and all hell will break loose.
Ryan Gosling isn't fit to play Neil Armstrong's pool boy. Hope this fiasco ends his pointless showbiz career. Thanks jazusamo.
Be sure to read Deke Slayton's book (or books?) also -- he takes Wolfe to task about Gus Grissom's hatch malfunction, and spells out exactly why it must have been a malfunction.
I don’t expect the change to come that fast, but the Rats are all in now that they have taken off the gloves and are not even trying to hide their agenda. They will use the media to keep most of the sheeple in the dark and brainwashed long enough to take over completely. But I think it will take a couple of decades or more. I don’t see it happening too fast after Trump’s 2nd term is done. But 20-40 years is still very fast.
In the first 2 trailers for the movie I did not see the flag or USA on the Saturn V. The only flag was one hanging by a door at a house.
