PHILADELPHIA An arbitrator is sending Colin Kaepernicks grievance with the NFL to trial, denying the leagues request to throw out the quarterbacks claims that owners conspired to keep him out of the league because of his protests of social injustice.
Kaepernicks lawyer Mark Geragos tweeted a picture Thursday of a ruling by arbitrator Stephen B. Burbank.
The former 49ers quarterback argues that owners have colluded to keep him off any NFL roster since he hit free agency in 2017.

The issue is that Colon didn’t get the money HE thought he was worth.
HE walked away from SF because they wanted him to take a pay cut. He refused Denver’s offer because it was a pay cut.
Root for the lawyers to fleece both for tens of millions.
Man, who’d have thought that the day would come when the bloodsuckers were the least obnoxious faction.
There is a long list of football players who didn’t get to play anymore because of their attitude and off the field issues.
Look at Greg Hardy and even Dez Bryant right now.
Attitude matters.
Is the talent worth the anguish for keeping them on the team? Sometimes, but many times it just isn’t worth it.
If I was the NFL, I would produce a very long list a talented players in the last 50 years who lost their jobs because of issues like this.
As I recall, he was offered a couple of contracts, but refused them because he felt that he wasn't being offered enough money and because he wasn't guaranteed a starting position ...
“Wrong on all three counts.”
No, I’m not.
Sure it has or had nothing to do with you sucking, Colin, no way..../s

My dad was fond of saying:
You will never be paid more than what it costs to replace you. You will never be paid less than what you are willing to work for. When those are out of their proper alignment, you don’t get paid anything.
It couldn’t possibly be that you can’t play pro worth a damn anymore? Neither could Joe Namath after he got banged up enough. Were they conspiring against him? Go take your millions and open a chain of bars or something. Call it Crybaby Colin’s Knee.
Aaaawwww, c’mon
He was on a roll.
LOL
That girl-friend should have been the first thing he refused to do. She’s cost him a pretty penny, screwed up his chances with the NFL, and destroyed our respect for the game. It is costing the NFL big bucks too.
Congrats Colin, Mr. Smarter than everyone else.
Enjoy
Brings a whole new meaning to pussy-whipped.
Collusion and conspiracy are not the same. The law only stipulate conspiracy to commit or the actual committal.
Read the links. You are wrong. it has been proven. Continuing to argue at this point is silly. For both of us. Buh bye.
Long time Bears fan here. I gave up on the NFL in about Cutler's 3rd or 4th year in his long term contract with the Bears. I decided during one of his "Bad Jay" games that I would not live long enough to see the Bears win another Super Bowl, so I turned off the TV and have not watched a minute of NFL since then.
That was after several years of getting aggravated with long frequent commercial breaks, seeing a bunch of people who act badly playing, and finding that there were better things to do than zone out watching a game on TV. Everybody else caught up to me in the last year or so.
Elway has made a public statement that ought to make for some interesting courtroom testimony not in CKs favor.
He thinks he would have been a star if only they didn’t discriminate against him for being like Tom Paine and Samuel Adams.
How do you prove that?
Norman Mailer kept having to pay huge divorce awards and alimony settlements when his wives convinced judges that they were kept down at home in the kitchen and bedroom as wife to Mailer instead of building careers aspiring actresses instead of getting married and raising children.
Mailer said:” It is such a shame the American public has been deprived of the chance to see the incredible stardom on Broadway and in Hollywood of all these ex-wives.”
He lost each time and paid based on potential earnings the lawyers said the women might have made. He wrote the nonfiction anti-affirmative action classic The Prisoner of Sex (highly recommended) due to that.
No one ever asks for cancer.
Surely some Negro Football League needs a water boy
Is he still with that Muslim girl?
He’s a burned out hippie might as well go crap on a sidewalk in San Fran.
