Odd that those claiming to be champions of *non-binary* set up a binary spectrum.
Those who divide people into two types, and those who don't.
That’s why parents, older students, and even academics need to push back. I know faculty members who are liberals, but they know BS when they smell it.
The Left always lifts up the abnormal and sows seeds of confusion and decay. The problem with the new “pronouns” cooked up by some Gender Studies faculty is that nobody in the real world knows what they mean. There is also a problem with non-standard use of actual English pronouns. I have actually seen writers attempt to be gender-inclusive and write something like this: “John is a friend of mine. They identify as non-gendered and are a good worker.” If that makes native speakers scratch their heads, what would person learning the language make of it?
I gave up on that project a couple of years ago. Gender is only part of the problem. Remember that to a liberal, by liberal here I mean those leftists who actually think a little a bit, i.e. their “theoreticians,” reality is entirely a mental construct. They believe that all they need to do is impose their own reality on everyone else and then it will be real Reality- the Climate will be universally fair and Utopia will bathe the world. There is, of course, a glaring flaw in that. If it is so then why bother with other people? All one has to do is think total Utopia and one is there. But they can’t follow their reasoning beyond the first step. Liberalism is, truly, a mental disorder.
My oldest friend, recently deceased, was a biology professor at UF. He had a very high IQ. His son was contracted by NASA while in high school. All that to say that he was, in the numbers, SMART. When he was a teenager he was very rational about things like economics and morality, all of it. When he got a job as a lab assistant at UF that gradually morphed over the years into Professorship he gradually lost all rationality and real perception and became a stereotype professor. We had the Reality argument more than once and at length. He believed that Reality is purely a mental construct and that it could be changed and Utopia realized by making the population believe certain things that do not comport with reality as normal people see it. Or, if thee people could not be forced to believe, then they must be dragooned into acting as if they believe or, and he hinted at but never stated, must be lobotomized or killed so as not to interfere with the new Utopian Reality. His colleagues at the University all shared that outlook.He was always my friend and kept me actually sane and functioning in a very bad period in my life when I wassemi-lobotomized on anti seizure meds and anti psychotics.

what I can or cannot opt my children out of? Hey school - THEY AIN’T YOUR KIDS!!
I don’t think those who misuse the word gender are capable of grasping the idea that, in proper usage, gender only applies to pronouns but I still recall my grade school teachers who would have given me an F in English for using gender when the correct word is sex. Language is ever evolving and most younger people today, even those who have graduate degrees, could not pass a fifth grade English test from the fifties. The Obamas were the first couple in the white house who routinely used expressions beginning with, “Me and Michelle” or “Me and Barack.” As a child in a tiny school in the boonies of South Carolina I spoke in that way away from school but I knew it was incorrect, now I hear it all the time from college graduates.
What annoys me the most is hearing people say things that mean the exact opposite of what they intend to say. I won’t elaborate now but I am cursed with instant recognition of such expressions and they grate on my nerves.
And so many of them read the Bible and come up with the opposite meanings as well.
