Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who was Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has been excluded from his funeral. Breitbart News has independently confirmed an earlier report in People magazine, which reported that Palin was not sent an invitation, and was told through intermediaries to stay away from the ceremony.
McCain fundraiser Carla Eudy confirmed to People that Palin had not been invited possibly, People speculated, at the behest of the McCain family.
The news comes on the tenth anniversary of the date in 2008 when Palin was announced as McCains pick for Vice President.
Palin now joins President Donald Trump on the list of those barred from the funeral.
But unlike Trump, Palin never feuded with McCain and never criticized him.
When news broke on Saturday of McCains passing, Palin said: Today we lost an American original. Sen. John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self.
John McCain was my friend. I will remember the good times. My family and I send prayers for Cindy and the McCain family.

With Trump absent, were she to be there, she would be the center of attention, for good for for ill.
McCain family keeping it as classy in death as he was in life.

Too many “cl’s” in that statement.
Good point.
Without Palin, I doubt know how well Trump would've done. Trump's approach could be considered "Going Rogue" by the usual standards.
Then again, I think the only thing that might've prevented a Trump presidency would've been a Romney victory in 2012 -- in which case, we'd have seen Romney-Clinton in 2016.
He is such a petty little man
I thought McCain had more class then that I guess not, he still bitter about losing to the Muslim racist and blames Palin...
I voted for Palin and McWhatshisname.
I’m actually glad this has happened because it undercuts the media’s portrayal of John McCain as some great “Lion Of The Senate” / “Hero.” Surely anyone with even half a brain must see this for the petty, small, vindictive act that it is - and it exposes McCain for the petty, small and vindictive POS that he was.
His own massive, over-inflated ego made him go a step too far and expose him for the asshole he truly was. Poetic justice.
I don’t for ONE MINUTE believe ANYTHING in his story about the Forrestal, Hanoi Hilton or entire service career.
Time and again this despicable man demonstrated he was nasty, egocentric, duplicitous, conniving and absolutely
self-absorbed.
To be honest, I believed McCain was pretending to be sick until Trump was impeached and destroyed because he was in the middle of all this Dossier sh#t, and why? Because Trump has or should have access to all the illegal crap McCain was doing overseas with Obama.
Same here!
History will not be kind to him.
I firmly believe the reason No Name decided to trash Our Sarah was because he was jealous of her. He knew that most of us were voting for her and hoping he’d stroke out. We liked her more than him. Yes, he was that petty. I just keep calling him pissy (maybe if you guys weren’t always talking about watering his grave...which I find hilarous!)
“Invites to funerals? Im confused.”
Me too, it’s very odd.
Reckon they’ll have a bouncer? You know, in case any unwashed happen along who aren’t aware of the invite rules.
I sure wish the president would give her a job in his administration. She would be very loyal to his agenda, since it meshes with her beliefs.
and some Freepers have the audacity to feel sorry and pray for this POS. Ill state it again burn in hell John.
Sarah Palin I dont think cares..
Hear, hear!
Me, too....and a bunch of other people!
Double friggin DITTOS FRiend!!!
McCain became increasingly petty as death approached. More so than previous. Was it him, his family or staff or all?
In any regard, Mrs Palin has probably been spared a train wreck at his funeral
