Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who was Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has been excluded from his funeral. Breitbart News has independently confirmed an earlier report in People magazine, which reported that Palin was not sent an invitation, and was told through intermediaries to stay away from the ceremony.
McCain fundraiser Carla Eudy confirmed to People that Palin had not been invited possibly, People speculated, at the behest of the McCain family.
The news comes on the tenth anniversary of the date in 2008 when Palin was announced as McCains pick for Vice President.
Palin now joins President Donald Trump on the list of those barred from the funeral.
But unlike Trump, Palin never feuded with McCain and never criticized him.
When news broke on Saturday of McCains passing, Palin said: Today we lost an American original. Sen. John McCain was a maverick and a fighter, never afraid to stand for his beliefs. John never took the easy path in life and through sacrifice and suffering he inspired others to serve something greater than self.
John McCain was my friend. I will remember the good times. My family and I send prayers for Cindy and the McCain family.

OK, please get it over with! It’s McCain 24/7! The only reason why the media is obsessed with McCain is that he locked horns with Trump.
No name, no shame.
Don't want her stealing the spotlight, which she would have. I am sure Mrs. Palin is all broken up about this...
She is so broken up over all this that she will probably take to the field with a high powered rifle to harvest some dinner.
How tacky! How bitter and angry!

John McCain and his family have little idea of what loyalty means. He, himself chose Sarah Palin as his running mate and she served him with loyalty & full support. This whole media fawning over the death of John McCain is the fake news of the century. McCain was a hater, a loser, evil, jealous, envious and not one iota of class nor, dignity. Gone and forgotten....that was the real John McCain!!!
I thought you only get invited to weddings.
....”What petty and classless people the McCains are!”.....
Yes.
McCain was total establishment. Others need not apply.
McCain made his own funeral arrangements so his family is not to blame.
Now that he’s dead, I hope that his “behavior” as a prisoner of war is publicly revealed.
It’s obvious the McCains organized his funeral to be in no small part a bipartisan rebuke of Trump......From his final statement to his choice of eulogists, McCains are still sparring with Trump.
Real class. Just a first rate act all the way. /s
So happy to see him gone. Hope his memory fades really fast.
Why did arizona elect him so many times?
Most Freepers liked the pick, and were really pumped about it. Speaking for myself, I flipped my vote from the Libertarian candidate to McCain because of Palin. (wasn't going to vote for 0bama or McCain otherwise).
Palin had to have been vetted by his campaign staff. Did anybody tell him "this is crazy"? What was he expecting?
I love Palin, but again, from McCain's perspective, it just seems like a weird pick.
It also stated that when they were all released, McCain was the only one who had gained weight.
Take from that what you will.
CA....
Let it be know, the only reason I voted for McNuts, is because Sarah was on the ticket! Actually, I voted for Sarah and not McNuts!
Good for Sarah IMO!
And let us hope that with this she will feel no more obligation to gush about the traitor.
She backed his reelection after they ran together out of loyalty—and that endorsement could have caused our servicemen and women more death and mutilation, given his warmongering. Really was too much like the good old boys backscratching she had fought in Alaska.
But I still appreciate her voice and all the positive tea party, etc., campaigning she has contributed to.
>>McCain made his own funeral arrangements so his family is not to blame.<<
He specifically disinvited her?
I didn’t get that from the article but maybe I missed it (would not be the first time).
Even though, it is classless — and kowtowing to it is also classless.
I totally believe that the self-absorbed jackass planned the invitation list to his own funeral right down to the last omission.
