Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga will on Thursday release a ministerial task team report into the possibility of introducing history as a compulsory subject from grades 10 to matric.
In 2015, the department held an inaugural round table where the task team lead by Professor Sibusiso Ndlovu was established.
The ministerial task team was given terms of reference to conduct a comparative international study on how best to implement the introduction of history as a compulsory subject at South African schools in grades 10, 11 and 12.
Now the team will report back after completing comparative studies and research in countries including Russia, China, Zimbabwe and Rwanda.
The Basic Education Departments Elijah Mhlanga says: And making sure that our history books reflect correctly a true story of South Africa.
Motshekga says she believes teaching history has a number of positive effects especially in a country like South Africa, such as contributing to nation building, social cohesion and cultural heritage.
Yes, education is not as important as everyone thinks. Africans have survived thousands of years without it. It is not for Africans, it came with the whites, However, our people might need to know about the history of South Africa and the world. Minister of basic education Angie Motshekga told journalists on Thursday.
If you’re white GET OUT!
Yeah, we noticed.
Not to worry, soon the people of South Africa wont have anything at all to put down their throats.
‘history as a compulsory subject’
“Black communists good, white devils bad. Kill them”
There is the history book.
Because being stupid has made our country great!
If the blacks accepted white teachings they’d be smart and they’d GET OUT too.
So, you’re saying you would rather be left ignorant of the world you live in, but you still expect to be given all that you desire....Have I got it correctly?
Savages don’t learn, they act primal and eat hand to mouth.
yes, stupid electorates permit elections that are pure formalities.
And THAT is why they are trying to replace us, here.
The goal:
An electorate un-stupid enough to wander into a picking field or to a widget assembly station but stupid enough to never ask the probing questions that hold their leaders ACCOUNTABLE.
He-he, that’s really going to work out well.
South Africa, the Zimbabwe of the future.
No further comment needed, other than get the popcorn and beer, sit back and watch.
It’s hard to imagine something funnier than the Minister of Education saying education is unimportant and really not our thing.
You’ll get no argument from me!!
He’s not telling us anything we don’t already know.
BTT
Yep, just like here where inner city gangs are in charge of a neighborhood and they bully anyone carrying a book.
I think by education he meant formal schooling set up to resemble European elementary and secondary schools.
Education minister saying education is bad?!
It's hard to believe an otherwise functioning adult could say something this st-o-o-o-pid.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
If you want me to love you, maybe I will.
Believe me woman, it ain’t no big deal.
You need love now, just as bad as I do.
Make’s me no difference now, who you give your thing to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.

I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
I’m not trying to run your life,I know you wanna do what’s right.
Give your love now, to whoever you choose.
How can you love, with the stuff you use now.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.
I can’t tell you, who to sock it to.
