Gov. LePage hospitalized in Bangor

After feeling some 'discomfort', he went to a hospital in New Brunswick, then to Presque Isle and finally EMMC.

Gov. Paul LePage was taken by ambulance to a Bangor hospital after experiencing discomfort Saturday while visiting family in New Brunswick.

LePage arrived at Eastern Maine Medical Center at 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, according to a news release from his office. He was held overnight and “resting comfortably,” Sunday afternoon.

“Doctors said he is very strong and healthy,” said the release.

No details were given about the nature of his discomfort.

LePage first went to a New Brunswick hospital, then was transferred by ambulance to a facility in Presque Isle “in good spirits” and eventually to EMMC.

His wife, Ann, accompanied him.

Hopefully, this is not serious. Sending good thoughts.

If I went to the hospital everytime I felt some “discomfort” I’d be living there. It must be something like chest pains.

He is. Too bad it wasn’t Jerry Brown...with more than “discomfort”.

LePage grew up dirt poor, and was never really rich. He despises the all Democrats and free loaders. Up in Maine that's mostly white trash and government employees. Maine is nothing like Massachusetts. There are summer people and retirees from Massachusetts and New York, but mostly just Mainiacs who have to put up with them. Very much a live and let live attitude.

He was one of 18 kids, and many of his siblings are no-accounts who just want their welfare checks and are always ready to run him down for the press, but not so much on TV, as they aren’t really presentable.

LePage was the only person among his parents and siblings to graduate from the 8th grade. He has an MBA from the University of Maine.

I have relatives who have lived in France since the 1970s. They recently retired to Maine (state of birth) and they HATE LePage. It’s almost Trump-level hate for them.

I hope he makes a quick and complete recovery.

Prayers up for the governor.

I usually vacation in Maine and have noticed the paucity of hospitals. I went to one near Camden two years ago after being stung by a bee and getting a nasty reaction. The doctor, God love him, was smoking a cigarette. Gotta love Maine!

Love your home page. I was born in Jamaica, myself. Jamaica Hospital is now owned by...President Trump.

My brother was born in the same birthing room as DJT, only 10 years later.

My wife was treated at Penobscott Medical Center (only one near Camden) for kidney stones a few years ago. Nice enough hospital. They gave her something like six oxycontin, for three days. She slept all the way home. Quiet, relaxing drive.

That must have been my hospital. Everyone was very nice and the smoking doctor gave me some free medication because, as he growled “otherwise it’ll cost you a thousand dollars.”

I decided against moving to Maine because I was worried about healthcare. Maybe I’m wrong?

He probably “felt discomfort” after he realized he was in a CanadaCare hospital.

Yes and no.

Maine has some of the best hospitals in New England. Unfortunately, we also have some of the most expensive health insurance in the US.

On the other hand, we also don't have any big disgusting filthy cities, just the wannabe Portland.
