Just like Pres. Lincoln, why was JFK so idolized? I read stories that when Jackie was entering the front door to the White House, JFK’s girlfriends were heading out the back.
With the so called “great emancipator”, he himself wrote letters to the head of the news paper of record of the time, Horace Greeley I believe his name was, “If I could free the slaves and preserve the union, I would do it. If I were not to free the slave or free some and not others and preserve the union, I would do it”.
Lincoln also bounced around the idea with others in the Senate of recolonizing the negro into Africa and or the Caribbean, believing they’d not be able to assimilate into our society.

Wasn’t fond of JFK for backstabbing the Cuban freedom fighters at Bay of Pigs, and I also wasn’t happy that he didn’t go far enough to ensure Cuba remained free (though at least we don’t have nukes pointed at us, so that’s a good thing, and to be fair, we still won in our own way due to having our nuke launch centers being a bit more “mobile” due to nuclear submarines, meaning we no longer needed the missile silos in Turkey anyway). And I do find it contemptible that he advocated for socialized medicine as well, and his basically capitulating to Khrushchev (of course, that being said, I’ve also heard that Khrushchev wasn’t too happy about the results of Cuba, one of his aides apparently making several blunt demands that they “kill the viper and his millionaire whore” or something). I also wasn’t fond of his pushing that missile gap thing (though to be fair, Johnson and even Nixon pushed it).
But I will give JFK some credit: At least he, unlike his brothers (ESPECIALLY Ted Kennedy), actually ATTEMPTED to fight Communism, rather than being perfectly willing to sell America out to the Soviets simply to prevent a Republican from becoming President or at best retreat from fighting them, and he’s also one of the few Democrats who actually DID try to back up Joe McCarthy during his attempt at naming names and helping him out. And at least HE cut taxes and actually TRIED to promote America rather than denigrate it, or sell out our technology to our enemies in exchange for campaign cash. That alone makes him FAR better than Clinton or Obama, heck, better than Carter even, probably better than FDR. Heck, I would actually find it very unlikely that JFK would have ever supported abortion. He’s definitely not even close to a good Catholic, but he is STILL a Catholic, and I’m extremely doubtful that if he takes his faith even somewhat seriously, he would support it. I know Martin Sheen, who is Catholic and extremely Liberal on various issues, absolutely refused to back Barack Obama precisely because he’s so pro-Abortion. I’m pretty sure JFK would have refused to back Obama for that reason alone as well. But I do ultimately agree, Trump is ultimately a far better President than JFK, heck, I’d even argue that Nixon would have made a better president during that time than JFK.
And since someone mentioned the theory that the CIA and Bush had been responsible for JFK’s assassination, I want to take the time to make clear that, no, they were not. As a matter of fact, it’s unlikely that the CIA, Bush, or, heck, even LBJ was responsible for his death (and I absolutely loathe LBJ for his mishandling Vietnam and his Great Society programs and think he’s one corrupt jerk, so if I say he’s not responsible, you can bet that he’s not responsible.). If I hold ANYONE responsible, besides Lee Harvey Oswald I mean, for JFK’s death, it was either the Soviets or the Cubans. Ion Mihai Pacepa certainly thinks so, as does the guy who wrote the article above and, heck, even Markus Wolfe, aka the East German spymaster. A couple of things to remember:
1. Regarding the CIA, the CIA, even if they were to hate JFK for trying to call off their wetworks missions, would not try to risk the national security of the country they serve to put a hit on him. And even if they did have a murderous hatred of him, I’m pretty sure they’d do so without it being very public (like, I don’t know, put poison into his food and cover his death as him dying in his sleep.). Plus, their surveillance of Oswald suggested that Oswald was going to head for either Cuba or the USSR based on his passport renewal, making it extremely unlikely Oswald was under their employ. Besides, barring revenge, what exactly would they have to gain by assassinating JFK?
2. George HW Bush at that time would have been small-fry politically (heck, I’m not even sure he was even CIA at the time either), so there’s very little to indicate he’d have anything to gain for Bush being assassinated.
3. LBJ, I’ll admit is corrupt to the core and definitely one of our worst presidents, and heck, he may have even murdered his own sister, but I doubt even he would have assassinated JFK, even WITH his potentially going to prison. For one thing, the whole line of succession amendment to the Constitution was not even in place yet, and ironically enough, it was formed AFTER JFK was assassinated. And even if it were in place, LBJ probably would have thought of various ways besides murder that could get JFK thrown out of office and replace him. If I were in his position and I had his conniving and corrupt nature, I’d probably leak a story to the press revealing that JFK slept with an East German Spy, with the scandal ensuing that would have JFK basically thrown out in impeachment trials, also bribing some Democrat senators into turning against him, and then I’d basically take over. All without using a bullet to his brain. So, yeah, I find it extremely unlikely that LBJ had him assassinated, even with my utter disgust for the man.
Now, with the Soviets and the Cubans, there’s a pretty extensive paper trail leading to them, including the Mitoken Archives and testimony from Ion Mihai Pacepa, including some details about the disinformation op regarding the Kennedy Assassination called Operation Dragon. And I wouldn’t put it past the Soviets, or, heck, the Chinese even, to be the types to engineer a nuclear war. Che Guevara certainly attempted it.
