Ten GOP senators this week introduced legislation that they say would protect ObamaCare provisions for people with pre-existing conditions.
The bill, introduced on Thursday, comes as congressional Democrats try to tie Republicans to the Trump administration's decision not to defend some ObamaCare provisions in a federal lawsuit filed by red states.
The legislation is an effort by the GOP to push back on the Democratic attacks, and it shows the concern among Republicans over the court case ahead of the midterms.

There are no high risk pools. And no plans to establish any.
How would you do that?
Society has already decided to let people die if they cannot afford care. You are using a liberal canard. Even with taxpayer provided health care for everyone people are going to die because they cannot afford health care.
A rich person can pay for cancer treatments that even the merely affluent cannot afford.
why would there be if you have a big gummit solution?
No matter your small increase, I bet your health insurance plan is costing you a lot of money.
Not saying it doesnt happen and theres certainly a wide range in the quality of treatment given the means of the patient.
My point is that no politician will campaign on this as acceptable, let alone desirable.
It's costing my employer a lot of money, as they are quick to remind us. My monthly premium is very reasonable.
High risk pools are a big government solution. Who else would establish them?
It's the same Freeper who regularly complains that Trump hasn't done enough to "fix America's trade deficit with China" ... while that same Freeper lives in Vietnam -- a country that relies on China for something like 70% of its GDP.
I know a thing or two about the insurance business. The "two most popular features of ObamaCare" that you cite are precisely why medical coverage is so expensive. Your personal coverage may not cost you much out of pocket, but your employer sure is paying a hell of a lot for it.
You should be honest here and tell us what kind of employer you have. I suspect you work for a government agency, which would explain why you don't think health coverage costs are rising dramatically.
I think that approach lost its impact once medical tourism began hitting the news as a great way to save a ton of money on health care expenses.

They love the rest.
Right. You’ve had that pegged for a long time.
Republicans are such cowards. The innate socialist in elected officials must be a very strong force.
“It’s costing my employer a lot of money, as they are quick to remind us. My monthly premium is very reasonable.”
You have to earn every cent your employer pays to you or for you including healthcare insurance premiums. I suppose you believe Social Security only taxes you 6.2% and not 12.4% because your employer pays half.
There are no unearned free benefits provided by employers. You pay every cent of those benefits.
The math is easy. Your employer knows how much it cost to employ you and those are all costs not just your gross pay seen on your stub. You will only be employed if you are capable of generating a profit that exceeds your employment costs.
Nope. Work in the finance industry.
One of the few popular features of Obamacare is the pre-existing condition coverage. The Democrats are already using the repeal Obamacare lawsuit to beat up Republicans about wanting to take that away. Passing a repeal that does that as well would be hard to get through the Senate, and impossible to get through the House if the Democrats take control of that.
