Radical South African politician Julius Malema confirmed President Donald Trump’s concerns Thursday, declaring defiantly that the point of the country’s proposed new “expropriation without compensation” policy would be to take land from white farmers.
“Through land expropriation, we are forcing white people to share the land which was gained through a crime against the humanity of black and African people,” Malema said in a press conference, referring to the racist land policies of colonialism and apartheid. On Wednesday evening, President Donald Trump’s tweeted that he had directed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo “to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers.”
He appeared to be reacting to a segment on Tucker Carlson’s show on Fox News that evening, during which Carlson highlighted a State Department statement on South Africa’s proposed land reforms that seemed to defend the South African government’s approach and downplay criticisms.
The South African government reacted angrily: “South Africa totally rejects this narrow perception which only seeks to divide our nation and reminds us of our colonial past.” Trump’s domestic critics accused him of racism, and spreading fake news.
But South African critics of the proposed land reform policy applauded Trump for speaking out, and the most radical supporters of the policy — like Malema — confirmed the racial motivations behind the new policy, while daring the United States to do anything about it. “We must put it on record, unequivocally, that Donald ‘the pathological liar’ Trump, we are not scared of you and your USA or Western imperialist forces,” said Malema, the leader of the small but vocal Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) opposition party.
“We are not the generation that is going to kneel at the statue of Western imperialism....”

I agree. One of the chief lessons of history is that when someone says they intend to kill you, you should believe them. We’ve seen this movie before.
I read not long ago that South Africa is now, for the first time in modern history, importing food. Shades of Zimbabwe.
It seems to me something like this. Five hundred years ago, the African method was “Cut, slash, burn.” The women did the farming, and they had to raid other tribes because they could not raise enough food to support themselves.
Then came the Dutch, who found large amounts of land vacant due to inter tribal wars. With massive agriculture input they fed all of Africa and exported plenty.
Now the blacks have again taken over, and are reverting to “Cut, slash, burn” programs in which they will not be able to support a population that now is maybe ten or twenty times what it was five hundred years ago.
How long have blacks dominated Africa? And it took the Dutch to make a PART of their continent productive and civilized. Now SA will be like the rest of Africa- primitive, brutal and backward. Chaos will result ending in wars and cannibalism. The white farmers should leave NOTHING standing, nothing of value,poison the land. THEY should slash and burn, leave Africa nothing, and go elsewhere to watch the show.
When Africa is said, does disease come to mind? The Ebola fight is on again after being declared a week ago as contained by Congo authorities. The Dem. Rep. of the Congo is the heart of the Sub-Sahara.
The Sub-Saharan countries are subject to endemics more so than any other region, with the Sahara providing a buffer to northern Africa bordering the Med. What holds the spread of tropical disease within those confines and prevents it’s spreading? Those of the Congo escaping to the Southern ‘promised land’ might actually avert slow death by famine.
We will not support the UN sending food.

I agree with standing up to the black racists in South Africa and all everywhere else. And the white racists here.
Trump knows exactly how to handle this, and is doing it.
All I was trying to say was it doesn’t need to become a political wedge issue, because that’s what they want.
These conflicts take shape on many different levels. As president, Trump operates on a few levels. Another level is the public narrative, that’s the one the community organizers try to manipulate. All I was trying to say, but didn’t do a good job of, was I don’t think blogs and websites need to really get involved.
So I really don’t think we disagree fundamentally on this.

As for the racists in South Africa, they’re no different from their counterparts here in the Klan.
