WASHINGTON — Senator John McCain of Arizona, who has been battling brain cancer for more than a year, will no longer be treated for his condition, his family announced on Friday, a sign that the Republican war hero is most likely entering his final days.
“Last summer, Senator John McCain shared with Americans the news our family already knew: He had been diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma, and the prognosis was serious. In the year since, John has surpassed expectations for his survival. But the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict,” the family said in a statement. “With his usual strength of will, he has now chosen to discontinue medical treatment.”

I’ve been as big a detractor of John McCain as I could be here. Now that he is on his death bed, I am not happy that he is near death. I am happy he is near the end of his ability to harm this nation.

Cancer is an insidious disease. It takes a toll, not just on the patients, but on their loved ones too.
Have you had cancer - well, I have. It ain’t fun and games. So, those of you with the snippy remarks ... STFU! And, count your blessings that you haven’t had it.
Do we have to have 30 days of national mourning, state funeral, declare Dec 25th as National John McCain day, put him on the $100 bill and name 700 schools after him?

McCain waited so Gov. Ducey could get past the Aug. 28 primary before Ducey had to betray Arizona and America by appointing Cindy or Meghan to John’s Senate seat.
And prayer that he repeats, and excerpts the LORD.
I wouldn't hold my breath on that if I were you.
The governor will still appoint someone who will serve until the 2020 general election.
At that time someone will be elected to serve the remaining two years of the term.
Well, yes, but the point is he won’t have to face primary voters with a Cindy/Meghan appointment on his record.
