Attorney General Jeff Sessions pushed back against President Donald Trump on Thursday, saying in a statement released by a spokesperson that the Department of Justice would not be "improperly influenced by political considerations" hours after Trump attacked him on television.

"I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in, which is why we have had unprecedented success at effectuating the President's agenda," Sessions said in the statement which was posted on Twitter by Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores.

Sessions IS the “insurance” Strozk texted about.

Now that is an intriguing thought. But probably not realistic. How would RR and Strzok have made Sessions be such a strong supporter of DJT early in the campaign and figure out how to get him nominated for AG?

Remember when Holder and Lynch were aggressively pushing Obama’s political agenda? They were his thug enforcers. Sessions? Zip, zilch, nada.

I remember reading maybe forty or more years ago that Senators are never leaders and never should be expected to lead. They have the skirts of 99 others to hide behind. That unremembered author knew human nature.

The recusal could be one of biggest political blunders of all-time.

Sure and Trump could have appointed superman to hurl bolts of lightning at Hillary. The world does not consist only of knaves (Dems) and fools (Sessions). There are plenty of other idiots that could have flamed out in the AG spot. Conveniently none of those were appointed so people can pretend that they would have been perfect and everything would be just fine.

$50 to FreeRepublic totally on board with that. I owe another donation to them anyway, its a no lose situation.

However within a year is tight, since I don’t believe she will be going through the normal DOJ system. I believe she and others will be getting the Military Tribunal system of justice and that Executive order to implement doesn’t go into affect until Jan’2019.

I see your point about the time thing. The wheels of what passes for 'justice' in this banana republic do grind slowly.

How about this then. On August 24 for the next 6 years, (basically as long as Trump will potentially be in office) the bet comes due. If Hillary has not been indicted, you owe $50 to FR. If she has been indicted, I owe for that year and each year until the time is up. We each are potentially out $300 total.

So true, as a nearly invisible senator, Sessions was alright, but he has been a disaster as atty. gen. And a Democrat succeeded him in the Senate.

Let me throw out another point, this quote from Bill Mitchell on Twitter a few hrs ago

“What better way for Sessions to operate for Trump under the radar that to be hated by Trumps’s base?”

Let that sink in...

CD (all in for Sessions)

Invisible and merely alright as senator?

Sessions was the most vocal and effective senator against amnesty we had and continues to implement that policy as AG on borders etc

His refusal is another matter, he was naive as hell not to realize this was all a loud soft coup to overturn an election by the Dems and media and GOPe and most so called conservative chattering class

Why Sessions hasn’t fought back is baffling as hell and extremely disappointing

“Sessions is not going to indict anybody going into the election cycle.”

If US Attorney Huber is ready to move forward, I suspect things move forward.
The Russia Collusion Hoax BS can be put down brutally any time.

It’s coming.

Sorry, Sessions is too risk adverse to indict 2 months before the election.
Sessions in his own words yesterday said he would not allow DOJ
to be political. Or something to that effect.
Of course, Sessions never explains why he allowed a purely political
Mulehead Witch Hunt under his watch.

“Of course, Sessions never explains why he allowed a purely political
Mulehead Witch Hunt under his watch.”

It’s not up to him to explain. He’s legally recused and did so properly.
You can disagree but that’s the appropriate legal action and it was no surprise to Sessions or President Trump.

The hammer is coming. Bruce Ohr testifies in a few days and declassification of documents is underway. It’s all coming to a boil.

This entire mess can be laid at the feet of Sessions recusal.
Documents may be forthcoming.
And if documents are forthcoming, it will be because of Trump, not Sessions.
Notice I said there will be no indictments 2 months before the election.
Documents and indictments are two different things.

Can’t do one without the other. The American people must be shown in black and white that the DNC Media is complicit in pushing the Russia Collusion Hoax.

Again, AG Sessions is correct in his recusal which was not a surprise to the President.

This is all a beautiful game where the Left is being lured in and when the hammer falls and it will, they will no longer be singing the praises of one “Silent Executioner” Jeff Sessions.

Count on it.

Why don’t you ask General Flynn how Trump/Sessions 3D plan
worked out for him.
Sessions will be history after the elections.

“Why don’t you ask General Flynn how Trump/Sessions 3D plan
worked out for him.”

Gen. Flynn is an American Patriot a victim of serious crimes and yet again, in a very minor process crime (of absolute BS), Mueller failed to seek sentencing.

Take a gander at that and explain it. Then I’ll explain it.

“Sessions will be history after the elections.”

The latest ruse to put the mindless Left and many of our FRiends on the last trajectory of misdirection before the hammer appears swinging with the deadliness only wielded by the Silent Executioner, AG Jeff Sessions.

US Attorney John Huber is reporting directly to Sessions. I’m sure it’s for no reason at all as well as the consistent unearthings of fact by Michael Horowitz and the hundreds of attorneys under him.

Surely, this will all amount to nothing.

Or perhaps not.

The game is about to enter the next phase. Bruce Ohr is appearing before a Congressional committee next week, the declassifying of unknown documents is underway and Labor Day is off in the distance.

Watch how a master lets it fly. President Trump is foreshadowing all aspects in his tweets. Reading them provides very strong indicators as does his interview with the lovely and talented Ainsely on Fox.

I can smell the napalm already.

I truly hope you get an invite to Sessions “retirement” party after
the elections. You have certainly earned one.

It all comes down to concerns about a possible conflict of interest. There are only two major reasons why a person in a prosecutorial role would recuse himself in an investigation:

1. To avoid jeopardizing a successful criminal prosecution of one or more defendants.

2. If he believes he can't be the prosecutor in a case because there's a good chance he will actually be involved in the case in some other capacity -- for example, as a WITNESS.

Think about this and ask yourself what Sessions could be up to.

Thank you, thank you. If everything is set for prosecution and that’s underway, AG Sessions can do as he likes.

The heavy lifting will be over. Then you can rejoice and claim he had nothing to do with any of it because it was really US Attorney John Huber.
