South Africa’s government on Thursday criticized a tweet by President Donald Trump in which he said he asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to study efforts to overhaul land ownership and “large scale killing of farmers” in Africa’s most-developed economy.
Mr. Trump’s overnight tweet referenced a report by Fox News host Tucker Carlson attacking the U.S. government’s stance on the South African measures, which he suggested was too lax.
South Africa’s rand fell against the dollar after the tweet, and was 1.3% lower in Thursday morning trade.
The ruling African National Congress has said it plans to change the constitution to explicitly allow the expropriation of land without compensation in an effort to overcome deep inequalities in land ownership the country, which shed white-minority rule in 1994.
South African Foreign Minister Lindiwe Sisulu said she instructed her department to seek clarification from the U.S. Embassy in Pretoria on “unfortunate comments” on Twitter by Mr. Trump

South Africa is rapidly descending to s**thole status, joining the rest of Black-run nations on that resource-rich continent.
The U.S. gives $133M to South Africa for 2018. Not a single nickel further. should be headed to that hellhole until this crap stops.

This is what happened in Zimbabwe. The black farmers who were given expropriated land, didnt know how to farm the land. Zimbabwe came to depend on international aid so their people wouldn’t starve.
At a minimum, there should be a finding that farmers fleeing state-sanctioned violence in South Africa should be considered refugees for the purposes of US immigration.
There is a lot of farming know-how and experience there that could benefit the US agricultural sector.

What is now Zimbabwe was once the bread basket of Africa, exporting food to much of the continent. Now they can’t even feed themselves.
They want to be like Zimbabwe and Venezuela.
IIRC, South Africa is a member of the UN. As such, they are signed on to the human rights agreements and subject to UN Peacekeepers preventing what is soon to become a genocide of whites living there.
