Its about time.
Shortly after POTUS Donald Trump was inaugurated, his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, foolishly recused himself from the Russian collusion investigation, leaving the Obama Deep State free to undermine the president at every turn.
Sessions recusal left Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein in charge of the bogus Russia probe, leaving him free to appoint Robert Mueller as special counsel despite the fact that no crime by the Trump campaign had been alleged and no intelligence pointed to Russian collusion.
Now, finally, after nearly two years of Justice Department undermining and stonewalling legitimate congressional and other investigative attempts to get to the bottom of a multitude of Obama-era scandals (Spygate being the biggest, and the FBIs pathetic investigation into Hillarys mishandling of classified emails being another) POTUS Trump is prepared to bypass Sessions and order the DoJ to comply with all congressional requests for documents.

Trump should fire Sessions on November 7 and appoint someone who will do the job.
Let Trump be the heavy and order public disclosure of the classified material Congress is demanding. Rosenstein's fate as DAG hinges on the contents disclosed. We already know Rosesntein's signature on a FISA warrant is perfunctory. Maybe the entire job is surplus, meaning DAG as a position can be eliminated.
And we know now that there is no Trump campaign Russian collusion now after over a year of this witch hunt. Nothing Sessions needs to recuse himself from when the tides turn.
Hindsight being 100%, its obvious that Sessions should never have been appointed AG. However, when it became blatantly clear that Sessions wasnt the right man for the job (after about two weeks) and totally incapable of performing the duties of the office, Trump should have fired him then. Period.
They left out something that ALWAYS puzzled me.
BEFORE Rosenstein hired Mueller, he sent a letter to the President recommending the FBI Director, James Comey, be fired.
So Trump fires him.
THEN, the media says it is proof of collusion to fire Comey, so Rosenstein appoints Mueller as special counsel to investigate "this" and other matters.
So that right there is why there should NEVER have been a special counsel, let alone Bob Mueller, James Comey's BFF.
Anyway, if Rosenstein REFUSES to provide the documents to Congress Trump orders him to, then he WILL be fired, and Trump will have a non-obstruction of justice reason to do so.
From my point of view, Sessions recusal is well taken. It's based on a good principle that conflict of interest is to be avoided. DOJ is a big house, and the absence of any single player should not break the function of the operation. IOW, Sessions is not indispensable or the only person who can prosecute Clinton, Comey, Mueller, Ohr, Strzok, and so on.
That this also (pretty much naturally) results in the DEMs standing up for principle is all the better - albeit pretty much unheard of, as the only principle the DEMs adhere to is the outcome.
Meanwhile, Sessions has clean hands, and the principle of avoiding conflict of interest is upheld.
The walls are closing in on someone. I believe President Trump is innocent. I believe Sessions is a good man. I believe they have a plan in place. I also think most of what we have seen is a show. I hope I am right and I hope they dont wait much longer to lay it all out there. The general public is reaching burnout.
if the pres does not clean house, reform the intel agencies with clear heirarchy it now is a threat to the nation
it must happen or we lose the country, when all is at the point of failure for the coup_plotters(no where near that yet) they will start a civil war..they have no choices
You can take it to the bank that neither Rosenstein nor Wray will comply with an order to release documents. They will get an injunction from a friendly judge and it will have to be settled by the Supreme Court. We can only hope the Supremes don't invent a fourth independent branch of government in the DOJ.
It would give Trump cause to fire Rosenstein and Wray for insubordination (which may be his long-game here).
Trump is right. Sessions never took charge of the DOJ. Rosenstein is Attorney General.
I hope you are right, can you imagine the collection of talking head explosions on the alphabet networks if that happened
Good, he said this during his FOX interviews and he said he would do it at an "appropriate" time :)
No, he should resign.
Well, at least you admit to absence of principle, I’ll give you that, twit.
“Trump says he will ORDER docs be given to Congress
...or what? Will he order the US Marshals to raid the DoJ...the military?...”
I has come to that. It is a war now.
Sure, but if Rosenstein refuses to comply, that is grounds to fire him on the spot. I don’t think even the never Trumpers in Congress could defend him for that.
