Democrat Aftab Pureval, Hamilton County clerk of courts, is challenging Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) in Ohio’s 1st district.
Aftab Pureval (half American Indian, half Tibetan), a Democratic House candidate in Ohio, reported to police on Monday the “menacing by stalking” of his fiancée, Whitney Whitis, outside her Cincinnati home.
Since Jan. 28, two days before Pureval formally announced his run, “unknown suspects” have been “sitting outside the victim’s house at all hours of the day, attempting to photograph victim, and have come onto the victim’s property banging loudly on the door, yelling at the victim and attempting to photograph through the windows,” according to the police report.
Pureval, 35, currently the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, announced on Jan. 31 that he would be challenging Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) in Ohio’s 1st congressional district.
The day before, Pureval and Whitis moved to a home inside the district in downtown Cincinnati. Whitis has put the previous house, where Pureval alleges she was stalked, up for sale.
Since the Chabot campaign has already questioned whether Pureval lives inside the district, the stalking and harassment of Whitis outside her home immediately raised the prospect that a Chabot campaign tracker had gotten out of hand. (It is not legally necessary for someone to live in the congressional district they represent, but failure to do so is often a political liability.) The Chabot campaign told the Cincinnati Business Courier that it sent volunteers to the house to see if Pureval still lived there last Thursday, but had refrained from doing so since then.

This bogus news story is a complete hit on the Republican. People being harassed in their home from the occupants of a parked car, who even get out of the car, going on for a while - and they can’t get the police there or an ID? For a Congressional candidate? Not buying it.

Yea, story seems fishy to me, but if you take it on its face....
It could be someone trying to catch him coming or going to prove he still isn’t living in the district...
It could be someone hired a PI to find out things about him or his fiance for some other reason.
It could just be some nutter, ex, etc...

While I don’t know this disrtict, I really don’t think a whole lot of effort is going to be put officially into stalking some carpetbagger. Seems to me if your intent was to run to represent a district you would have moved into the district first.... as would I think most voters...
I don’t need to see film of evidence you are still not living in the district, if that’s an issue for a voter...
And others won’t care... Hell Maxine Waters has been re-elected how many times? And doesn’t live in the district she “represents”

It could also be a 'fake hate crime'... where liberals set up conservatives to look like racist... A liberal does a 'hate crime' and attributes it to a conservative.
