In the latest episode of Banished! by the Peoples Republic of California, Governor Jerry Brown is likely to sign a bill that prohibits restaurants from offering anything other than milk or water with their kids meals, under the pretense of preventing obesity.
Effectively theyre telling parents theyre not capable of being trusted with their childrens health. Its Big Brother Knows Best vs. mom and dad.
They want to control what little Johnny and Susie drink with their kids meal. If restaurants dont play along they could be fined up to $500. So now California isnt just the nanny state, its also the bully state.

Myrtle Beach SC is pretty good too. Nothing makes me look as svelt as standing near a 250 lb woman in a pink sting bikini.
Svelte that is.
To the average Democrat, children are government property. Parents are a nuisance.
It costs more than three times as much to rent a Uhaul from Sacramento to Dallas than from Dallas to Sacramento; $4,265 vs $1279 for their largest truck.
Nothing in California to stay for unless you like high taxes illegals being robbed shot at or ran over a true shit hole state.
I can’r wait to move out.
OMG - you're right. Never thought of it in those terms, but it fits... Thanks cld.
I gladly accept your award and am grateful for the chance to mint a new term for the net. ;-)
Just one more of the ‘It Takes A Village Idiot’ infringements that will take time and money to put on a ballot to be struck down. Jerry Moonbeam if it’s Brown flush it down’ is the worst elected official, in any of the public offices he’s held (and that’s all he has ever done, sucking at the public teat) California has ever seen or had. And that’s saying something with lunatics we have in office.

OK, listen up, girl. No plastic straws for you. And if you’re 12 years old, no Coke or Pepsi either, just milk and water. It’s OK to get an abortion without your parent’s consent, though. People have rights, ya know.
Thanks Blood of Tyrants. Murdering your ex-wife is still okay, as long as you're a former professional athlete. And murdering citizens if you're an illegal in a public place in front of witnesses is also still okay.
Diet soda is bad.
Youre better off with the real sugar. Just in moderation. Your body knows about sugar. Artificial stuff, not so much.
Too many here are getting bogged down with whether kid should be drinking soda or not. The point is that it is a slippery slope. Letting the government decide what your children drink and Regulating what restaurants can offer will just keep growing. And then theres that extra government agency that gets to run around monitoring the restaurants. More tax dollars at waste.
The problem is all the processed food I bet. Grandma and mom actually cooked a meal For the family.
Have you looked in the freezer section lately? Its disgusting all the ready to eat meals in there.
Then of course kids dont get recess or PE like they used to. And getting to go out all day long in the summer without supervision is a thing of the past.
We escaped 3 years ago. We just picked a pretty real conservative spot, no friends no family no jobs - Just took the risk and left. It has been glorious!
It’s the ultimate in Orwell. Liberalism is not the least bit liberal. It is about a rampant, frankenstein style government that tells you quite literally to drink your milk.
If they are this upset over Sugar in Drinks for Kids, shouldn’t KETCHUP Be a Controlled Substance and Tightly Regulated??
Your one of the lucky ones still working on my escape plane.
Maybe that's why they like Sharia law.
