Former CIA Director John Brennan said Sunday that he is considering taking legal action to try to prevent President Donald Trump from stripping other current and former officials’ security clearances.
Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Brennan said he’s been contacted by a number of lawyers about the possibility of an injunction in the wake of Trump’s move to revoke his clearance and threaten nine others who have been critical of the president or are connected to the Russia probe.
“If my clearances and my reputation as I’m being pulled through the mud now, if that’s the price we’re going to pay to prevent Donald Trump from doing this against other people, to me it’s a small price to pay,” Brennan said. “So I am going to do whatever I can personally to try to prevent these abuses in the future. And if it means going to court, I will do that.” […]

I’ve been disposed before, a couple of times. I did well because I was honest, thorough and had nothing to hide.

That “freedom of speech” argument connected to security clearances is strange. How are the two even related? Brennan can go out and disrespect President Trump the same as he had been. Jerking that clearance away sure made Brennan and angrier blabber mouth.

A security clearance is a privilege, not an entitlement.
And its issued only on a need-to-know basis.
Brennan is an ex-government official so there’s no need for him to have it.
But if he wants to waste his money on a frivolous lawsuit, let him go ahead.
In photos, why does he always have the exact same ugly grimace on his face? He literally looks like he’s been constipated for a month and is trying to pass a bowel movement.
His only worry now is; will the sentence be life or death.

No need for the President to heed a judge ruling out of venue.
The only judicial action against a president is impeachment.
He cannot be subpoenaed to any court.
He cannot be enjoined by any motion for joinder.
Only the house of representatives by majority vote can summon a president.

In theory, but not in reality. A judge could issue an injunction against Trump preventing him from removing anyone else’s security clearance, and it’s unlikely Trump would defy it.
Well I think a security clearance would be cool to have. I’m gonna sue the government until I get a security clearance. YOU get a security clearance! YOU get a security clearance! EVERYONE gets a security clearance!!
Mr. Brennan, facing a future as a bank security guard, is scrambling to keep his high paying job. Nothing more.
