WORD POWER!!
During the invasion of Salerno, Allied forces employed propaganda on a scale they had never tried before. Artillery was used to fire shells, each containing thousands of leaflets, encouraging the Germans to surrender and promising them humane treatment if they did. The shells would open about 300 feet in the air and rain down the leaflets on German troops. One British Major made no secret of his anger at having to fire leaflets at the enemy instead of high explosives. In a short while, however, he changed his mind. For days his men had been slugging it out with German artillery. One gun was particularly well-concealed and all efforts to pinpoint its location failed. This one gun claimed 100 British lived in four days. Then, a German soldier surrendered as a result of one of the leaflets. He told the British where the German artillery was hidden. This information enabled the British forces to target that menacing artillery and knock it out in short order. Many of the Major's men lived because of the little leaflets. Besides being an interesting history lesson, we can learn something here. How often in my career have I visited someone in the hospital or brig as a result of a fight that should never have taken place. Or how many people wound up in Family Advocacy because they were violent to a spouse or child. Why? Because the individuals involved resorted to settling differences with fists when they should have settled things with words. Like the Major who learned that firing off words instead of explosives could sometimes spare a lot of lives, in our personal and family lives we must always remain cool when differences of opinion threaten to flare into violence. It is then we must get a grip and resolve things through positive communication. It really works! God Bless & Stay Great! Chaplain Mitch Schranz

Hiya radu!
I am getting ready to retire but today was a bit cooler, I went to mow early morning and then visited Robin and the pups afterwards.
I saw son too before he headed off to work around noonish.
So you have unexpected company visiting and sleeping over? Interesting, LOL.

Hi, radu! All has been good here. Had some stuff that had to be done, so now I don’t have to feel guilty for being lazy the rest of the weekend. LOL!
Stubbs was the only one that was absent today. Both feedings. We’ll see what happens tomorrow. If he doesn’t come back, I hope ti’s because someone loved him and wanted to keep him. Or her. Still have no clue. LOL!
One of the blacks wandered into the kitchen last night, looked around for a little bit and then went back out. He didn’t want to miss out on dinnertime, now did he! :)
Are y’all still having some stormy weather? It showed that it might rain here, but nope. Not a drop that I know of. Grr!

AH! Cool! Caught ya before you headed out.
Sounds like you had a pretty good day! It being cooler was an added plus.
Yeah, I’m sure Hubby knew they were coming but he’s notorious for not telling me. They’re staying in the other house since that’s where out of town guests stay. No point in making them stay at a motel.
It’s nice to see them but I was a bit ragged out after the busy day at the museum and just wanted to park my hiney when I got home. LOL! We did go out to eat at our fave restaurant and that made it all good.

YAY! You get to be lazy tomorrow and no guilt trip with it! LOL!
I’ll be lazy, too, guilt trip or not. I’m a bit sore after the busy day at the museum and don’t foresee a lot of activity tomorrow. :-)
I hope Stubbs is ok. Those silly kiddos appear to have someplace they like to go for a day or so before heading back home.
I assume Peaches and Ginger were outside when the kitten explored the kitchen. Might have gotten ugly.
No stormy weather here today. It was cloudy most of the day, then cleared off a bit late in the afternoon. There are a few showers not far from us but it doesn’t look like any will come here. There are chances tomorrow though. We’ll see what happens.

No guilt! We’re way beyond that. LOL! How did things go at the museum? Did you get to clean different stuff or uniforms?
I was disappointed we didn’t get any rain when the rain was clearly on the radar. Grrr.
No, my two were in the house, but luckily not in the kitchen at the time. Though these two are more afraid of the kittens than they are of mine. LOL!

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

I hear ya on the way beyond the guilt thing. LOL
I understand your disappointment on the lack of rain. It stinks when the radar shows you should be getting some but not a drop is falling. It’s happened here too.
Too funny that Peaches and Ginger are afraid of the kittens. Maybe it’s because they’re outnumbered.
Things didn’t go as I expected at the museum. The guys were unloading a trailer full of stuff that had been brought up from MS a couple of weeks ago and before I knew it, they were taking mannequins and half mannequins with uniforms on them to my little corner. So much for emptying that tote today! LOL! I recognized them from having seen them in MS and remembered where they were in the building, and knew there was a lot of work ahead. Everything in that area was filthy. I didn’t get many done today but what’s been done is clean now.
It was a busy day there. There was a Boy Scout troop getting a tour when I arrived and another group of 35 toured in the afternoon. There were several other people in between. Next Sat. there will be a group of about 60 Patriot Guard for a tour. We’re all looking forward to that.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

That’s awesome that the Patriot Guard will be there! They can spread the word far and wide.
Ei-yi-yi. Sounds like you had your work cut out cleaning all the stuff from the dusty building in MS. I’m sure they will all look practically brand new when you’re done. It’s a wonder they don’t stir up your allergies, though! *sniff* Makes me need to sneeze to think about it. LOL!

Yes, it's going to be cool having them there. They're having a convention or something next weekend with chapters from all over the southeast. One of the men from the local chapter was there a couple of weeks ago to let us know what time they'd be there.
I have a deep respect for the Patriot Guard for all they've done and still do to honor our Fallen. All of us at the museum do.
The work's BEEN cut out. LOL! All the stuff I've been cleaning has been from Tupelo and yes, the dust stirs up the allergies. I won't say the uniforms look brand new when I finish them but they look a lot better than they did before.
I got a shot of the tote they were piling everything on and around, and they piled up a few more after the pic was taken. There were a couple of full mannequins propped up against the wall behind me too.
