ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo, running for a third term and a potential candidate for president in 2020, acknowledged Friday that he was “inartful” when he said this week that America “was never that great.”
The Democrat went on to expound on something that few elected officials ever need to spell out.
“I want to be very clear: Of course America is great and of course America has always been great,” Cuomo said on a teleconference with reporters.
Cuomo’s appraisal of the nation was somewhat different Wednesday when, speaking at a Manhattan bill signing, he critiqued Republican President Donald Trump and his slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
“We’re not going to make America great again — it was never that great,” Cuomo told the audience, which reacted with gasps and laughter. “We have not reached greatness. We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged.”

I want to be very clear: When I said “America was never great,” that was simply in inartful way of saying “Of course American is great.”
Probably just another instance of us bitter, gun-clinging, religous rubes not understanding “nuance.”
Most modern democrats think America was never that great. They’re marxists.

What brings a smile to my face is knowing that he really doesn’t believe America is that great. He showed a rare moment of honesty. So now, every time he has to fall all over himself professing how great America is - in a desperate but hopefully futile attempt to salvage his political career - well, making him say that makes me smile. I hope he chokes on it. He’s an un-American lying POS.
It would be political suicide if he didn’t live in a state full of Democrat-Socialists (DAZIs) who actually believe America was never that great.

Cuomo ran for Gov pretending to be a moderate and governed that way until the Sandy Hook shooting. At that point he dropped the mask and went hard left. He has been that way ever since.
He let slip just how he feels and how most democrats feel about America. That is why at least some in the party and some of their handlers in the media have objected to his statement, not because they disagree with it, but he let the cat out of the bag.
He knew he’d stepped in it when even the lefty audience gasped. It only got worse from there.
He desperately tried to atone by doing what Dems always do: a long list of stridently name-checking ‘their’ groups and expecting them to hoot and holler (why? one wonders).
The speed of the humiliating climbdown and widespread distrbution of the fatuous apology reflect his panic.

Funny how people like Cuomo use such excuses once they’re caught saying stupid things? He knew exactly what he was stating and now tries to smooth the waters because he needs the votes. Hope the bastard loses!
Yes, I found ‘inartful’ to be a strange word. Does he mean that when he’s being positive about the U.S. he’s being artful? Webster’s Dictionary defines artful as ‘tricky, crafty’.
Andrew Cuomo is a complete a-hole and his brother, Chris, the “news reporter” screwball on CNN is no better. Their father, Mario, was a far left Gov of New York, but he wasn’t so full of himself and America hating as these two useless clowns. Am sure he would be shocked at his repulsive sons behavior.
