What was an 11 year old doing out, roaming the streets at that hour and why did she take her sister with her?

And just WHAT was that so-called "mother" doing?

Where in this story does it say there was a gang or group?

Epilepsy or a heart condition means you can’t take the voltage. You don’t have to be shoplifting or doing anything wrong.

At 11, no matter the season, my bedtime ( that meant actually being in bed! )was 9:00P.M. and if I got up ( which I didn't ), my parents would have known about it; let alone leaving the house!

And this was NOT the first time that that girl was in that store, at that hour, shoplifting!

In any of the other articles, on line, that I've read.

I wasn't going to read anything from aol, so did a search and found a bunch of other sources.

Because I value life over some trinkets.

Even if that life is young and stupid enough to be stealing at the time

That does NOT compute at all!You did NOT answer my query at all. Were you all in for the whole Michael Brown/Ferguson shoplifting thing as well?

This is NOT a site for damned anti-cops nor bleeding hearts who whinge about criminality and makes excuses for criminals of any age, race, or sex.

FR is a CONSERVATIVE, POLITICAL site.

The story as written certainly doesn't give us much information to draw conclusions other than she stole something, tried to flee, and was tasered.

I know of adults stealing meat from grocery stores. Just a couple months ago I was doing a self-checkout and a guy ran out of the store with a 12 pack of beer. He was crouched behind a shelf waiting for the cashier to look away.

I have to wonder why a young girl would be stealing from a grocery story instead of clothing or jewelry store. Maybe she stole a can of Pepsi for herself or a 40oz for her dad.

I don't know why she did it. I don't know why because the reporter wanted to create a 'victim of evil cops' narrative.

Maybe she's a natural born thief who steals from grocery stores or maybe there's more to the story.

I'm not defending her. I just want to know what she stole and why. Is that too much to ask from reporters? To give us all the facts instead of trying to create an obvious victim of cops narrative?

If I knew what and why tasing her might be justified.

Valuing life is a conservative value.

Protecting all life trumps any perceived gain in “law and order” from unnecessary police violence.

Using potentially deadly force against a shoplifter who is leaving is 100% unnecessary

The trouble is that people fall on their head when they lose all control. Few die but many are permanently injured.

Yes, tackling can be more dangerous.

Neither should be used against a shoplifter who is leaving and not threatening anyone

At 11 years old (and until I had my first job @ 14 years old), I had to be in bed before 9pm.

Oh be a good little whatever and hi thee off to DU or some other libturd site, where bleeding hearts who LOVE criminals are welcomed with open arms.

You haven't answered a single question I put to you. Instead, you have changed the subject, wiggled, moaned, whinged, and spewed out the usual lefty drivel.

So just WHERE do you teach...a pleasant section in Brooklyn, a private or Charter middle school on the upper West side of Manhattan, the Riverdale section of The Bronx?

"Protecting life" is stretching it a lot...considering the fact that her "mother" ( it takes far more than just popping out a kid, to be a MOTHER! ) didn't teach her that stealing is "bad" and who had no idea where her two girls were nor what they were doing at 11:00 P.M.!

That "mother" doesn't look as though she is a poor, starving , living in abject, miserable penury.

The ridiculous "Deadly FORCE" trope again?

This was not this kid's first time at Kroger's committing CRIMINAL ACTS, very late at night! She's a serial criminal, who wasn't about to change her ways, and now, with her mother's example, has now been ushered into being a proponent of VICTIM OF RACISTS and yet again, an attempt to STEAL, but this time money!

Gee...with your attitude, nobody gets "hurt" from insider trading, asking for and getting graft, check kiting, Three Card Monte street thugs, pickpockets, nor even the smash and grab thieves; none of whom should be punished. Right? /s

The kid ATTACKED the cop, when she was caught and THAT is when she was tasered!

There are still several cop haters left here, sadly.
For any of them to broad brush all cops, I just return the favor and call them hetero haters (actually, I just started ignoring them years ago).

"Neither should be used against a shoplifter who is leaving and not threatening anyone"

A healthy, coordinated adult can catch an 11-year-old kid and avoid being bitten or whatever. They just don't make some of the cops like they used to. ;-)

Many police would agree with that comment. Others don't. Oh, well. Most of 'em aren't all that overly sensitive or politically correct anyway. I give police administrators a pass for obvious reasons, by the way.

Get in shape! Be happy!
