Hi Everybody!

((((HUGS)))

I decided against painting the floor of my mud room when my sister discovered over 100 sq feet of pre-adhesive peel and stick linoleum tiles. So I spent the better part of the hot, stormy, tropical day flooring my mud room.

The tiles are beautiful...they look like a parquet wooden floor.

of course, there was some cutting and fitting involved, but it was definitely less work than any other plan.

I think of you whenever I see military dogs.

My niece is starting a working dog school in the Houston area. Some “bite work” and working on scent training...as in drugs and gunpowder, as well as old fashioned obedience training for pets.

She had her puppy in Home Deport and she wouldn’t stop sniffing a customer’s ankle. Niece kept apologizing, but customer asked what she was working on. Gunpowder, said niece.

He laughed and said his concealed carry gun was on his ankle and he had been at the range. Niece was very proud of puppy.

Nice and high....30 feet above creek level.

Round One of training storms July 21 - 24 dropped 11.5 inches, no real damage.

Round Two of training storms August 3 - 4 dropped 3.75 inches on the already saturated ground...rising creek waters uprooted a big black walnut tree which I cut up today plus weakened a dead maple which dropped a big chunk...also finished cutting up today.

My split wood racks are completely full. When space opens up today’s chunks will be split but won’t be burned until probably 2021-2022. Nice problem to have!

WOW! Nice drop in temp! My guy on the local radio lives on the hillside and they had harder rain than he’d ever seen and hail, too. And thunder!!!

I should have heard the thunder, but we are under the take off zone of the international airport for the summer. Big jets are going over all the time. Could have been thunder and I wouldn’t have known.

Indeed. I was getting a little prissy doing the decor on my mud room, forgetting what it was for, I guess!

Jim did such a nice job on it that it has been a joy to decorate.

A good thunderstorm will drop the temps that way and it’s appreciated. Fortunately it stayed cloudy and the sun didn’t come out to make it a sauna. That happened the other day after we had a brief shower. UGH!

Dang, y’all had some TN-style storms up there today. And to get thunder, you have lightning. Too bad you didn’t get to see any of it. :-(
