Republican State Sen. Troy Balderson, 56, eked out a win in Tuesday’s down-to-the-wire special election to fill Ohio’s 12th congressional district after trailing Democrat Danny Lawyer much of the evening.

The final tally is 50.2 to 49.3, so he got a clean majority.
The enraged citizenry in Florida did precisely that in 2000, when the ballot boxes were heading for the backrooms with the 'Rats in charge. Citizens had to take to pounding on the doors to let observers in to head off any cheating. Of course, the media went nuts over that, calling them rioters and terrorists. I don't think so. Those who try to steal elections are the real terrorists.

My girlfriend was a greeter at our poll ( and our church) and bought 6 trays of cookies to give to the voters. She bought another 6 trays and ran out of cookies at 7pm. So that was 1000 cookies! She said it was the most heavy turnout in memory. THANKS HONEY!!!

Dems showing up at 90% or more of their presidential year turnout numbers and R numbers generally not even hitting midterm levels at best!
The non traditional MAGA and Cross over voters areNOT going to show up just because hey like Trump! They showed up for TRUMP because he talked to them and gave them a reason too... the GOP is not even trying to talk to them let along give them a reason to show... the deafacto belief that they will show up because they like Trump and for no other reason is delusional.
The ONLY way the GOP doesn’t lose the house this fall, is if the Dems keep playing so far over the top that ther non traditonal MAGA and crossover voters show up just to give the Dems an Eff You.
Nothing the GOP is offering in messaging of execution is going to get them to show up.
The only way they hold the house will be in spite of their own incompetence.
Balderson is the classic droning squish that the GOP Donors want to be the party's face. He makes dull contentless public announcements, tries to have as small public profile as possible and likes to hang out with the CofC types at a country club as his form of meeting the voters. The political struggle going on is multifrontal, not just demlib versus GOP but intra GOP of base versus donor class. Political dynamics are shifting , fluid , and complex. There is a definite battle coming between the chamber of commerce Republicans and the party base. The two are steadily growing apart. Trump has the financial resources to push for like thinking Americans of both parties and the large block of white working class voters who don't vote because they find nothing attractive in the uniparty national scene, to unite in effectively a third party movement.
