In Mad Men he was a thieving bastard (stole a man’s identity and was born and raised in a whorehouse) and was a serial adulterer.
He may have been the central role of Mad Men but he wasn’t an idolized star. Only stupid women thought such a man would be admirable.
Looks to me like it was mocking the white guilt meme rather than supporting it.
There was some Democrat leaders in California who said that they no longer wanted white people in positions of power in the party. I really think they should go with that plank in the platform, it is pure marketing genius.
