On Monday, YouTube became the latest platform to boot content of the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones from its site, hours after Apple first took steps to remove most of Jones' podcasts from its services, citing the company's hate-speech guidelines.
Now, those who try to visit The Alex Jones Channel on YouTube will be greeted by a note saying the account "has been terminated for violating YouTube's Community Guidelines."

I never once saw any of his stuff. But I might have a look now.

They should be. And broken up too.
Amazon, FB, Twit, Goog, all should be broken up and regulated.
Many years ago a futurist told me that the future would no longer be city-states or counties but instead, corporations. People would idtifiy and have allegiance to cooperation’s for they would be as powerful as countries.
Back then he was thinking of IBM and others...I think, but his basic premise is correct.
But humor me and prove that you understood the concept of the "public trust" and when it would apply. If you say "never" then you might want to move to a non-western country, because it's a rather historic (and necessary) principal.
Basically the public trust is violated when the "public" views an entity as violating the "trust" given by letting entity control sectors of the economy or have enormous influence on the "public."
IOW you leave the individual banks alone, until some handful of those banks rise up to take over the nation's banking sector exploit and manipulate the "public trust" for their private gain or benefit. People from long ago were smarter than us recognized the type of tyranny that can come with that.
Anti-trust is a legitimate and very necessary concept of western law, regardless of our respective sentiments to laissez faire principals.
IOW I want my daughter to live in a free country, but the country must actually exist for that to happen. Self defense.
“Keep telling yourself that - if it makes you feel like a freedom-first patriot sticking to principals at all costs”
Yeah such a “stupid” thing to espouse on on a site called “Freerepublic”, amirite?
The new hotness is top-down “authoritarianism”!
“But humor me and prove that you understood the concept of the “public trust” and when it would apply. If you say “never” then you might want to move to a non-western country, because it’s a rather historic (and necessary) principal. “
Uh, at what point did you convince yourself that these are public entities or companies charted by the government?
You were not required to put your “trust” in these companies. You did that mindlessly on your own. Many of us tried to tell you people over the years. I got called an “Apple hater” many times on that alone on this site by that segment of tech brand worshiping muppets.
And now that you got reality slapped upside your head because MegaTechCorp has formed Collusion Voltron. Now you are all screaming all manner of non-legal mumbo-jumbo desperately looking for some legal clause that will put the CEO’s of those companies in jail or put the companies under state control....or something.
“IOW I want my daughter to live in a free country, but the country must actually exist for that to happen. Self defense.”
You can start by getting off those platforms.
You wont. Because people are lazy. That is all there is to it. We’ve been going over this for months, and after a week of complaining, these same people are right back to enjoying their Googles.
I dont have a Twitter account. Don’t use Spotify, don’t use iTunes, dont use Facebook outside of making sure no relative has died, dont use Gmail. I buy all my tech used, pirate anything not hardware.
I’ve read enough dystopian sci-fi to have seen this coming from 1998. Nice to see more people finally getting it.
He still has his own domain. Whether or not he hosts it on his own server or not, I don't know. Maybe at some point they will deny him the right to do even that.
But I believe he used those other platforms, YouTube, Facebook to reach more of an audience.
If Trump put these links in a Pinned Tweet post it would create a firestorm :-)
These are the best competitors to Twitter/GooG..etc
