Protests have broken out in a number of cities against Iranian regime this week Comes after the dramatic drop of Iran's currency and other economic problems 'The nation is forced to beg while the leader lives like God,' protesters chanted

Iran entered its third day of protests as furious citizens took to the streets to rail against the regime they blame for devastating the country's economy.

Protests have broken out in a number of cities this week over the dramatic drop of the country's currency and other economic problems ahead of the imposition of renewed US sanctions.

Videos shared online purportedly show some furious Iranians burning tyres and setting fire to police vehicles as demonstrations spun out of control.

Referring to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, many chanted 'death to the dictator' at protests.

'The nation is forced to beg while the leader lives like God,' was also among the furious chants against the Iranian regime at protests, according to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a political organisation founded to oppose the fundamentalist regime ruling Iran.

Multinational firms that rushed to cash in three years ago - such as France’s energy giant Total and carmakers Peugeot and Renault - are already packing up.

They must use a different spelling for the word tire then we do. They spelled it tyres more then once in the article. I didn't know that.

“Maryam Rajavi, NCR’s president-elect, has said that Iran’s economy will not recover until the regime is toppled.”

I think that will be an increasingly persuasive message, as the Iranian economy and currency collapse.

The economic pressure is intense. Their currency lost 2/3 of its value this year (the drop is accelerating). They must import most products, even many basic food items. Beyond their Rial being worth much less, they have to pay additional pay premiums for the business risk and smuggling.

Monday, the first sanctions actually go into effect Monday, 6 August (90 days from announcement). The remaining sanctions will go into effect by November (180 days). Government revenue (overwhelmingly from from oil sales) will plummet.

People would be wise to stockpile rice, in case the regime is NOT overthrown in the next few months.

"Were obammy to travel to Tehran, would he be thrown off a very tall building being a homosexual and all?"

Not if he confined it to pre-pubescent boys, which is expressly permitted in islam.

Corrupt regimes often start wars to blame their failings on other countries and take the focus off them.

A number of years ago during massive protests in Iran I read/heard that the Government brought in a police force that is not “of the people” to exercise the force needed to shut the protestors down.

You’re wrong. Those protests are for real.

Oh, they are out there. And planned in Langley & (possibly) Israel. I'm not in the habit of defending Obama, but remember when he wouldn't "support" the protests there last time? It is obvious that the US didn't want to appear to be trying to overthrow the government (which we obviously were trying to do).

And, why do demonstrations have to lead to the overthrow of a government?

The Syria thing is a fiasco. The Yemen atrocities are wrong. Sorry. This stinks. We elected Trump to stop this nonsense.

If you think Obama or Brennan, a converted Muslim communist, wanted to overthrow the Mullahs in Iran, you haven’t been paying attention.

Yeah, says Obama, lets overthrow them and as a start we’ll get them a hundred billion dollars or so to start. Lol

Another thing: Why would Obama and Brennan, et al do all they could to get the Iranians nukes if they wanted to overthrow them?

Oh, they are out there. And planned in Langley & (possibly) Israel.

*eye roll*.... yeah, sure... the Iranian people do not care about the economy collapsing or the religious rules forced upon them, they care more deeply about what some goons in DC say. That's beyond pathetic.

I'm not in the habit of defending Obama, but remember when he wouldn't "support" the protests there last time? It is obvious that the US didn't want to appear to be trying to overthrow the government (which we obviously were trying to do).

And now you think Obama was trying to overthrow Iran's regime, while sending them $150 billion in laundered money AND providing cover for their nuclear program? You're THAT stupid?

And, why do demonstrations have to lead to the overthrow of a government?

Apparently, yes. The younger generations in Iran have been increasingly secular, and increasingly opposed to the religious zealotry of the Iranian regime. The elections have been openly rigged, with secular candidates "disqualified" with regularity over the past 2 decades. Since the ballot box is obviously no longer a way to effect a change in leadership, how else do you suggest the growing democratic opposition in Iran make that happen? A letter writing campaign to Santa?

The Syria thing is a fiasco. The Yemen atrocities are wrong. Sorry. This stinks. We elected Trump to stop this nonsense.

You might try opening a newspaper, while you're spewing your pathetic nonsense. ISIS has been greatly diminished, Saudi Arabia bombing Yemen is not our problem to stop, and Trump IS making tyrants think twice before acting, whereas Obama only encouraged them by ignoring his own "red lines" and by supplying the tyrants more often than not.
