CNN’s Jim Acosta is becoming the story of the week. Well, at least one of them; the Trump White House is a flurry of activity. Acosta was at President Trump’s rally in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, where supporters of the president heckled him. Yes, they chanted “CNN sucks.” Yes, a few middle fingers were thrown. So what? Suck it up. Acosta stayed and did his job, so at least he has the gumption to—you know—take a few punches. And he obviosuly wasn't in mortal danger because he did stay. The alleged abuse was patty cake stuff. It was no different than trash talking at a sports event. Still, never sacrificing an opportunity to be on television, Acosta said he felt he was no longer in America due to the heckling.

Yesterday, he got into a tense exchange with White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, where he demanded the administration declare that the press isn’t the enemy of the people. When she did not give the answer he was looking for, he said he left the press briefing room.

He also suggested that journalists chant that outside of the White House. That was met with a collective eyeroll. And even some former hosts of networks, like MSNBC, are calling out Acosta for his antics. Dave Shuster, who is now managing editor for i24NEWS, tweeted, that not only is Acosta giving the Trump White House another win, he’s hurting journalism.
“Hey Jim @acosta, the job of a true journalist is not to be sad or happy by what happens in a press briefing room,” Shuster tweeted. “It is to ask questions and report facts about what was said/not said. Your feelings, antics, + self promotion are hurting journalism, not helping it. Enough.”

He won’t. Despite being a whipping boy for this administration, Acosta will probably continue to be the Trump White House’s favorite punching bag, serving them easy wins, and become exhibit A in demonstrating how this president is always two steps ahead, especially when it’s CNN.

While trying to dump on Acosta, Shuster is still trashing on the Trump administration who he says is lying and insulting journalists. Then goes on to say the journalists should be reporting the "facts". Does he not see how hypocritical that statement is?
This is exactly right. But not for the reasons these A$$hats claim. The reporters are confrontational. They only ask gotcha questions in hopes of creating news about answers. They are not asking about foreign policy, the economy, state of affairs, policy, etc. They are asking for comments on the latest controversy about Trump. They aren't even asking about the FBI, Comey, Mueller, etc. with any serious inquiries. They are trying to CREATE a story with a response from Sarah or Trump himself. THAT's it.
OK for the left to heckle Trump administration officials, but not for Trump supporters to heckle the press? Cleary he doesn’t get free speech.
Impeach acosta! Impeach Maxine! Impeach congress! Impeach Clinton! Oops, already done.
Jim doesn’t know whether or not he’s an “enemy of the people”. He was hoping Sanders could tell him but she refused. It’s got to be hard realizing you may be a “useful idiot” for enemies and I can understand him wanting someone to make it clear. But Sanders wouldn’t tell him so he left wondering if he is or isn’t an enemy of the people.
Hopefully someone other than his handler will answer his self-doubts: “Yes Jim. Yes, you are acting as an enemy of the people”. His recent pleas make me think he is willing to accept the answer, so I hope someone will tell him soon and let him get on with his life.
Acosta never learned the most important lesson in journalism class.
Report the stories. Don’t BE the story. Acosta is nothing more than an insecure attention whore who bleats like a baby lamb for its mommy to feed him what he craves.
Maybe Acosta can put a drum circle together.
At the rally that I attended in New Hampshire on 8/6/16 I recall a short chant directed at the press pool that was there.No reporters were hurt and,unless I’m mistaken,nobody even considered harming a reporter.
If Acosta were a Cloud, an Old Man would be yelling at him.
Of course he’s a Clown, not a Cloud.
These rallies are just the prelim to this fall’s “Full Metal Trump” campaign tour. Acosta better start toughening up that skin or they’ll find him curled up in a fetal position in some corner or an arena crying, “just make them stop”.
It’s not Sarah Sanders’ job to denounce her boss. It to work for her boss and not against him. They are just trying to bully Sanders into disagreeing with Trump so they can use it against him. An objective press would not be asking her about her personal feelings about issues, trying to goad her into a conflict of interest.
