Time does not heal all wounds, and a pair of Vietnam veterans will demonstrate just that Wednesday evening outside the Open Space in Traverse City.
Calvin Murphy of Bear Lake and Ron Martin of Ludington will be a part of a protest against outspoken anti-Vietnam War activist and Acedemy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda as Fonda attends the showing of her 1980 movie, “9 to 5,” at dusk as a part of the Traverse City Film Festival.

She said the festival has gotten worse over the years as Moore has felt more comfortable highlighting his agenda. "It's become a place for him to push politics," she said. "This year especially."
When she found out Fonda would be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, Bellanger's emotions were raw. She said she was "upset. Disgusted. Confused. Sad for all the vets. My husband was in the Marines, his dad was in the Army. It's part of their family. And it's a slap in the face to anyone who has ever served this country. They joined the military and were proud, and what she did to their image and made their families feel is sickening."
Traverse City native Daniel Rozanski told the Free Beacon that he thought Fonda being honored "was a joke" when he first heard. "My grandfather saw friends die at his side in Vietnam. There is no forgive and forget for that." For Shane Crampton, whose father died during the Fall of Saigon when Crampton was only four years old, "what she did should never be forgotten." While several Vietnam veterans told the Free Beacon they were offended Fonda would be in town at all, let alone to receive an award, they did not want to give Moore the attention they felt he was seeking by complaining too vociferously.
"I see it as another attention-getting ploy by Michael Moore," veteran Duane Lindstrom said. "He's a known social agitator, perhaps he feels that he is picking up the ball that she was carrying. He probably admires her more for her political stances than for her screen credits." Lindstrom also suggested the avowed socialist may have other reasons for honoring Fonda: "Sooner or later, it comes down to money."

Traverse City is northern Michigan’s political version of Berkeley Californicate. Those drones go ga-ga for lefties like Hanoi Jane and her likes. Maybe El-Blimpo will make an appearance himself. I saw him one time in Charlevoix, where I live, at the Edgewater Bistro Restaurant, my local hangout. He was with a small group of people at the bar and they were pretty subdued. I was tempted to go up to him a say something snide and cutting, but my better nature took over and I drank my Potato Vodka in peace.

My family goes back four generations in Charlevoix. Great-great grandpa owned a small farm south of town. Great grandpa ran the boatyard on Round Lake. He provided the first steam tug service from there to Chicago. Grandpa served at the Coast Guard rescue station and my dad was a linotype operator for news papers all over the region.
We moved to Traverse City in 1960 where dad ran a printing business and mom was a RN at Munson Hospital.
It saddens me to know my hometown is being overrun by these rancid turds like Moore and the rest of them. They waddle into the region with all their wealth and self-importance. Buy up boatloads of property and feel they're entitled to take over. They don't give two sh!ts for those of us with deep roots in the region. They think it all belongs to them now.
Besides the gross subject, the so called “writer” can’t even spell academy. And that’s the kind of low IQ, uneducated “writers” from which people get their “news”. Amazing how the propaganda leftists turn out nothing but stupid people who can’t even write in English. More than amazing; just obvious.

I just happened to be at at Tan Son Nhut airfield when Air Force One landed with SecDef MacNamara on board for the initial talks with the RVN’s. That “talk” started that the whole thing off.
