~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Joint Base Andrews, Maryland Joint Base Andrews is a United States military facility located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The facility is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force 11th Wing, Air Force District of Washington (AFDW). In 2009, Andrews Air Force Base and Naval Air Facility Washington were merged to form Joint Base Andrews.
The base is named for Lieutenant General Frank Maxwell Andrews (18841943), former Commanding General of United States Armed Forces in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The base is widely known for serving as the home base of two Boeing VC-25 aircraft which have the call sign Air Force One while the President of the United States is on board. The host unit at Andrews is the 11th Wing (11 WG), assigned to the Air Force District of Washington. The 11 WG is responsible for maintaining emergency reaction rotary-wing airlift and other National Capital Region contingency response capabilities critical to national security, and for organizing, training, equipping and deploying combat-ready forces for Air and Space Expeditionary Forces (AEFs). The Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) is composed of two wings, one group and two Ceremonial Elements. The 11th Wing and the 79th Medical Wing at Joint Base Andrews. Also under AFDW is the Air Force Operations Group (AFOG) at the Pentagon and the 844th Communications Group. The Air Force Operations Group is the principal operational entity of the Air Staff in support of the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. The 79th Medical Wing and 844th Communications Group both have specialized missions where they will be the single Air Force voice in the National Capital Region (NCR) for their respective fields of expertise. The 11th Wing will fulfill duties as the host base organization of Andrews while also supporting AFDW requirements. Through the U.S. Air Force Band and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, the 11th Wing also provides ceremonial and musical support throughout the National Capital Region and worldwide. Sinners Like Us
July 31, 2018
This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.
Luke 15:2
I have a friendher name is Edithwho told me about the day she decided to follow Jesus.
Edith cared nothing for religion. But one Sunday morning she walked into a church near her apartment looking for something to satisfy her discontented soul. The text that day was Luke 15:12, which the pastor read from the King James Version: Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
Thats what it said, but this is what Edith heard: This man receives sinners and Edith with them. She sat straight up in her pew! Eventually she realized her mistake, but the thought that Jesus welcomed sinnersand that included Edithstayed with her. That afternoon she decided to draw near to Jesus and listen to Him. She began to read the Gospels, and soon she decided to put her faith in Him and follow Him.
The religious folks of Jesuss day were scandalized by the fact that He ate and drank with sinful, awful people. Their rules prohibited them from associating with such folk. Jesus paid no attention to their made-up rules. He welcomed the down-and-out and gathered them to Him, no matter how far gone they were.
Its still true, you know: Jesus receives sinners and (your name).
Heavenly Father, we cant thank You enough for the radical love of Your Son, who drew all of us outcasts and moral failures to Him, and made the way for us to come to You in joy and boldness.
God pursues us in our restlessness, receives us in our sinfulness, holds us in our brokenness. Scotty Smith
The parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:17) is the first in a series of parables about lost things. Its followed by the parable of the lost coin (vv. 810) and the parable of the lost son, better known as the prodigal son (vv. 1132).
Although each of the parables is about something lost, theres also something in each that isnt lostthe sheep safe in the pen, the remaining coins, and the elder son at home. Yet the shepherd, the woman, and the father are not content with what they have; their concern is for that which is lost.
Is someone in your life lost and waiting to be found by the Savior

My daughter lives near Andrews. When Bush was flying in after 9-11 she said there were Humvees in the area parked with twin 50’s on top. Left after he landed.

I did my three lessons by car today, as I didn’t trust the weather. The sky had a heavy grey look to it, and could have burst into rain at any moment.
When one is caught in the rain on a motorcycle at 35-40 mph, one does not get merely wet. It is as though one has been thrown bodily into a pool, clothing, shoes, socks, underwear, eyeglasses, and all. One does not dismount and move by walking, it is more like a slurping, squishing motion, and I would be slogging into people’s homes to sit at their piano in that condition.
No...Blue stayed home today.

Thanks! I needed a little affirmation today.
I was the target of somebody’s DRAMA, and when I called her on it, was mistreated.
Grrrr. I hate that.
