A resident of Mexico has been charged for conspiracy to grow marijuana with the intent to distribute it and damage to public lands and natural resources, according to federal prosecutors.
Everado Cuadro Campos, 49, who is from Michoacan, Mexico, was arrested July 17 at a marijuana garden in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Shasta County, according to a news release by the United States Department of Justice.
U.S. Forest Service and California Department of Fish and Wildlife agents found a marijuana cultivation site near Rock Creek, according to a Department of Justice criminal complaint, and entered through a well-worn path. A Forest Service special agent noticed plastic water lines that diverted water from a drainage area of the nearby creek.
The piping led the agents to a campsite, where a rifle, homemade spear, and knives were found, the complaint said. Agents followed the trail down to marijuana growth site, where they heard footsteps and Campos appeared, though he ran as soon as he saw the agents, the complaint said.

Likewise, an article was posted on FR not a few days ago with a headline indicating man grows marijuana plants and goes to court only to be sent home.......
This gets funnier the more I think about. I wonder if Kate Brown knows of the plight of these poor farmers. There must be a way she could set up subsidies to help them. They were, after all, lured by the prospects of big money, set loose by a government program of legalization. Surely they should be paid NOT to grow marijuana.
Doctor? Lawyer? Welder or heavy equipment operator? Gunsmith? Crop sprayer? Engineer? No?
lol
California didn’t legalize MJ to kill off the criminals. They did it to get a piece of the action.
The state government didn’t get a vote.
It was legalized by referendum.
When I was in school they didn’t sell it by the ounce, it was sold by the “Lid”.
“Crop sprayer?”
How did you know?/sarc
NOBODY can smoke 30 pounds of strong weed in a year.
Ha...I know a few people that would give it a college try!
Exactly! Then... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUwEIt9ez7M
And your typewriter wasn’t connected to a global information network. We used to think that “lid” was an amusing anachronism.
The area he was “farming” in used to be a thriving lumbering area until the 60’s - 70’s when they shut down the industry. The local population turned to farming the local forests. It’s their only “cash crop.”
Politically it’s why this area along the northern coast is the only area of Northern California that does not vote conservative.
The eastern boundary of this area is burning due to the Carr fire. Lotta crop going up in flames.
“Total waste of taxpayer money to put this guy up for life. We got illegals raping children who dont get this kind of sentence.”
Sessions has nothing better to do? Meanwhile America’s worst traitors and seditionists roam around free and unscathed.
I seriously doubt that this illegally grown pot is being legally sold anywhere.
This is being sold without ANY taxes being collected. BET ON IT.
Nope. They’ll just do the same as with alcohol and make it illegal to make on your own.
Er...

I would be more supportive of legalization efforts if our “authorities” were not so hypocritical.
Indeed examples must be made shall I say it nip it in the bud.
“This is being sold without ANY taxes being collected. BET ON IT.”
That is certain.
Legal pot is tagged with a serial number PER PLANT and tacked through the entire production cycle to retail sale. It is also tested, per serial number, for impurities.
Failure to track is a felony. Sale of un tracked weed is a felony.
UNLESS you grow it personally. Then you can give it away an ounce at a time.
That sounds like a challenge.
Come find me in a year. I will be in the barco lounger in the corner. Wake me up.
what does oxygen have to do wit it? Just curious.
Hell of a commute!
